    your fav. dynamic under $100(NOT57!)

Nice mic. When I was doing live sound, I used to prefer the AT41 to the 58 for female vox. Add me to the list of e609s fans.

    Paul Reed Smith

Before you buy into the PRS haters, I strongly urge you to go out and play some. PRSs vary in quality from guitar to guitar, but that is true for any brand. I played many, many guitars before I bought my PRS. I played Gibsons, Fenders, G&Ls, and PRSs with every possible configuration. I played...

    Paul Reed Smith

You might be able to get a used McCarty for that in the States. I donno about overseas. I've played this one and it's a sweet guitar. I almost bought it, but I bought a new Custom 24 instead.

    Moving from Right to Left...

Sorry to drag up an old thread, but today I saw this.

wow, thats all i have to say

That may be because he is playing the music from Super Mario Bros., a Nintendo game from the late 80s.

    Electric Shock

When the microphone is shocking me in the lips, does that mean I need to plug my amp into the same circuit/outlet that the mixer is plugged into? Is there anything I should know before using a long extension cord with my 35 watt tube amp? I assume that ground-lifting a tube amp is a bad thing?

Soloing: when to use major or minor pentatonic

That's what playing the guitar is all about. Music is a language, and it takes time to learn how to say what you are feeling. Children can't write very good poetry, because they just don't have that much experience with English (or whatever language they are learning). Likewise, just because...

    Moving from Right to Left...

I'm right handed, and I keep rhythm with the right side of my body. That goes for drums/percussion and guitar. It just feels natural, even though the more precise fingering is done by my off hand. I can keep rhythm with my left hand, but it takes a lot more effort and concentration.

Today 5th April..............11 years ago.......Kurt Cobain "left" the planet........

This is true, but their first album was Bleach. Nevermind - the first major label album - cost over $100K. I don't remember the exact number, but I want to say it was close to $200K.

GAS equation: How much do you spend on food?

I'm guessing about $6 for a weekday for me. My wife and I like to eat out once or twice on the weekends, and I go out for coffee about once a week. So I guess it's about $120 a week to feed the two of us. About once a month I have been going out with friends for sushi. That meal costs me around...

    Guys, HELP ME!

Isn't Live Wire just rebranded HOSA? Look on the cable, and see if it says HOSA on it in white letters. HOSA is crap. As I read somewhere else on this board, "HOSA will Hose YOU!"

    flourescent lights...and guitars

Just for the sake of vibe, I would put in track lights with mini spots instead. They can give you plenty of light to work and play, but focused where you need it instead of ambient. When I painted my studio and put in dramatic lighting, it had a noticeable effect on my desire to be in there. I...

    Dean Accoustic vs. Seagull???

I've got a Seagull S6-CW (cutaway) that I've loved for nearly 10 years now. It was $580 when I bought it. It has a satin "honey burst" finish. Plays like a dream, and has aged well. It plays and sounds better than my friend's martin.

recommend a brand and gauge string for my acoustic

John Pearse phosphor bronze.. I like lights. They've been my one and only acoustic string for going on 10 years now. They rock.

    Live Monitoring while Recording?

With your Delta/Omni you can do hardware monitoring, and avoid the latency issues with software monitoring. Set all your tracks to output to Wav 1/2 on the Delta. In the Delta control panel, send Wav 1/2 OUT to the Monitor mixer. Go into the monitor mixer and mix to taste - make sure you...

    "fake" harmonics?

There's also a tapping thing, where you tap the string 12 frets above where you're fretting it. i.e. fret at the 2nd with your left hand and tap the 14th with your right hand. It sounds like your initial post was confusing pinch harmonics with this tapping thing.

    Noob question about mixers

Don't be insulted, but you know you can adjust the level, eq, etc. with the Cubase software, right? You don't need a mixer or control surface. I'm not sure what a "dynamic enhancer" is, but you probably want to return it and get a nice soundcard - maybe something like a Delta 44?

    Tuning a bass

Dial Tone The dial tone is a continuous combination of 350 Hz and 440 Hz. All the tones in the modern telephone system are combinations of two tones, from a set of tones carefully picked so that no tone is a harmonic of another and no tone is the difference between two others (causing a beat).

9 to 10 gauge change - Opinions wanted

I've been playing 10s for years. Recently I bought a new guitar and it came set-up with 9s. I'm loving them.

    Recording Distortion staight from Head

Ahh, I gotcha Farview. I've got a great guitar and a great amp, so I don't need any distortion or modelling from a POD. Just looking for quality mod/delay effects. Thanks for the response.
