I have a pair of Hearos Hi-Fi that I have worn at concerts and band rehearsal. They change the sound a little bit, but you can work around it at rehearsal as long as you know what's going on. They're definately worth it for reducing the SPL hitting my eardrums.

If you are going line-out of the BOSS into line-in of your soundcard, you are going digital->analog->digital. If that is the case: 1) it won't matter what sampling rate / bit depth you're using on the BOSS because it's going to analog when it leaves the BOSS 2) if the D/A converter on the BOSS...

I have the Studio version, and all my plugins worked correctly. The "sfz" thing is the only one that is VST, so it gets put in a different place in the menu. I'm at work and don't remember where the other ones get put, but I have seen and used the sonitus:fx, TTS:1, and GrooveSynth for sure.

FWIW, I got Sonar5 up and running in 64-bit mode on Win XP x64 with M-Audio Delta 66 Beta drivers yesterday. I made a few quick recordings and was impressed. So far, no issues. I haven't done anything major, though.
