    What Does 'Normalize' Mean?

Hey Glen, I am interested in finding out how that Normalize to RMS function works in SF. Does it apply both a downward AND an upward compression at the same time? (well, effectively compressing the signal and adding a complementary make-up gain?). It's a pretty intriguing feature.

I built mine myself. No experience with Rain computers, so can't comment.

SPDIF, how to mix the signal?

With digital inputs you can't adjust input levels as it is a direct digital bit-for-bit transfer. Once recorded onto an audio track though, you should be able to treat it as any other audio track.

Yeah, I have a K2600XS and have been salivating to get my paws on a PC3. The Cascade mode and the new oscillators... mmmm, mmmm For those that don't care to spend a lot of time programmign VAST, I'd strongly recommend the Kurzweil PC3LE. Great keyboard, great action, good sounds, and would...

Is the Moog Little Phatty Stage II worth it?

Depends by what you mean by "worth" it. Does it fit your needs? What are you looking to get out of it? Personally, I like em, and if I had the money, I'd buy one. I'd also buy a PolyEvolver a Prophet 08 and an Andromeda :D But I don't have the money, OR the space :(

Need a new motherboard and tower

Try this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131398 Has AM3 socket supporting all the latest AMD processors including the 6 core stuff. It also has both PCI and PCIe slots which will cover your Pulsar.

Need a new motherboard and tower

Difficult situation indeed. While it's easy to replace the hard drives with SATA, especially if you have all the original installation CDs, the PCI situation is gonna be the difficult one. And as far as I know there is no PCIe version of the Pulsar, and if I was the OP, that's not something I'd...

You were doing OK, and then you went ahead and spewed that. You are referring to compression/limiting. Capeesh? ;)

    What Does 'Normalize' Mean?

The only time I've found normalization to be useful is when you're batch processing a bunch of audio files and you need their peak levels to be uniform.

    What Does 'Normalize' Mean?

0dbFS = 0db Full Scale. This is the highest limit in digital audio. Anything over 0dbFS is clipping.

    What Does 'Normalize' Mean?

Noramlizing usually increases the level of an audio file so that it's highest peaks are at 0dBFS, although there are some that will allow you to normalize to a different level. This is NOT to be confused with limiting. Normalizing doesn't change the internal dynamics of a recording while...
