hi
Okay i am just back from a gig ...my band played last night and the sound was awesome ...we played tonite and i felt like walking off stage lol.....worst gig of my life...anyways
i am very drunk ....but i will say this much about the mp3 ...its very messy ....i'm guessing there isn't meant...
Ok mics being out of phase .....i don't get what the problem is ...?
lets say you were recording an acoustic guitar using 2 mics? 1 on the 12 th fret and the other on the bridge ...each about 1-2 foot away from the guitar ....then u hit record .......
so u playback ...and they are out of...
i don't have the mic with me at the minute but here is a pic of my banjo ...as you can see there is plenty of room to squeeze a mic around the rod :)
ok ok it is a bit of a tight fit but you can definetly do it ...i took the ball off....
Perhaps i am not explaining myself properly ....i...
 its really easy to do it .... its a tenor banjo - 4 strings ....maybe you are thinking of a 5 string ...the inside of a 5 string might be different from a tenor banjo .... ;)
lol there is just enough room to put the mic inside the banjo and wrap it around the metal rod inside it ....i took the ball off the mic lol ....
Thanks for the feedback guys ....
Yes Tim ...I put a lot of compression on it ...I'm still relatively new to recording and mixing so I tend to...
I used to use my Boss GT-6 FX pedal which is cool for just messing around and you can get some great clean sounds ...however if you are after a heavy distorted guitar ....mic up an amp ....ever since i started micing my Marshall i've been getting some great distortion sounds ...... :)
I was having this dilema myself ... i need a mic Preamp for a couple of condenser mics i just bought but i don't know whether or not to get the M-Audio DMP 3 or the Behringer Tube UltraGain Mic100...
And yes i have no money in case it wasn't obvious enough lol :D
Any Suggestions?

Yeah i love the song ....i though the backin vox and lead vox get a bit tangled up in a few places ...i'd also like the vox turned up a wee bit ....but thats just me
love the song though ....sung with...
I thought that the vocals were supposed to sit in the middle of a mix otherwise it became unbalanced ..???
I'm no expert, i'm fairly new to recording myself ..but i'd use 2 mics on the acoustic guitar (one at the 12th fret and the other at the bridge) and pan the mics about 70 L and...
Hey man i have a song that i made in my mates garage ....its not great sound quality ...and we plugged the mic into my Boss GT-6 FX Pedal ...and added phaser lol ...its kinda funny ... i could send u it if you like ....i think it matches the description of the type of sound you are going for .... :)
Yeah, i personally know a local band who are going for a Punk Garage Blues kinda sound ....real rough and ready like it was recorded in a garage with like car engines running and other weird effects in it ... it works really well ...
Theres only a guitarist and a drummer ....and the guitarist...
