    One Take Wonder

Well see, thats what I get for not being Christian. It would seem that the Biblical use of the word adoption implies redemption, rather than the current usage. I withdraw my critique; this makes perfect sense in the context of the song.

    One Take Wonder

I'm struggling with the use of the word adopted here, and not just because I was adopted myself and so were my kids. The word implies that we are actually somebody else's children but were taken in, or adopted, by God ( I am assuming this is essentially what we would call Christian inspiration...

    First CLINIC post....Thanks Toki!

The vocal was good and the recording sounds decent, although I thought I heard the vocals clipping early on (at 1:29?). Nice build of dynamics. What really needs work are the lyrics, IMO. I know this all came from the heart and writing good lyrics is something we all struggle with, but I...

    New mp3 - a blues shuffle

Agree with Hevy on the individual part. The riff is not very economical and this works against it. Not bad though. The recording is clean, but I thought you could use another instrument in there to fill in some holes.

    Critique this

Sounds like something the kids like and thats probably what you are going for. I assume these are going to be rocked up in band form. I frankly admit I don't like this whole genre of songwriting so take this with a grain of salt. To me it sounds like everyone is pissed off for no good reason...

Mackie VLZ vs Standalone mic pre

Good enough for home recording environments with mics $500 and less.

Mackie VLZ vs Standalone mic pre

If I pick up a Mackie VLZ mixer would I be losing something by not going with a quality standalone mic pre or are the preamps in the Mackie of good enough quality.

"Depends on the station. GOD, I love Detroit..." Dafduc, is there a station Clear Channel has not bought?

    Two new songs

I also think its someone from the forum trying to spark discussion and maybe with an axe to grind. I know that the day I get a "Great job! I love everything you do! you're a genius, man!" post, its time time for me to leave. I also think SC is trying to pull an American Idol on us and come...

    New Original 2.5 days old

There was a thread in another forum ranking on the high cost of Les Pauls. $2500 is a little ridiculous. Nice guitars, fat sound, but give me a break.

    Two new songs

Granted, there is a lot of cozy criticism from people who obviously are very friendly. At first I thought, well I must be missing something, because many people post stuff that's OK and you'd think they cured cancer. But that's what friends do for each other. I have posted quite a bit but I...

    New Original 2.5 days old

I'm sorry, Hevy, got caught it up in bashing Super that I forgot to offer my thoughts. I thought this was a real unique take on this swampy blues genre. The vocal was great, a lot of feeling there. The guitars had a nice tone (Strats?). Overall nice mix.

If he does, he's going to get a lot of "constructive" criticism. For one thing, his voice better sound like fucking Pavoratti.

    Two new songs

Super-critic - I personally don't care if you come out with both guns blaring; we want honest opinions here. My problem is that not only do you come off like an ass, but your criticisms have been way off the mark. In particular, you seem to have a problem with everyone's voice, besides your...

    NEW SONG (very good recording)

The singer is fine. I would ignore the previous post. The song is Ok, though I found the progression and riff a little too obvious. I think you made the most out of it. The tempo changes drastically and I'm not sure that was on purpose. Either way it sounds a little awkward. Walk before...

    7. I never said

That was really cool and it sounded like a good mix to me. You have a particular sound to your posts and I like that. Could you tell me a little about how you record your vocals (mics, pre, effects)?

    acoustic (H.F.D.)

The blending of major chords and a bluesy scale solo made for an interesting blend of styles. Almost sounded like southern rock played by Enya. Very neat blend and an excellent recording.

    Last song

Could this be too dry? I don't get a real blending of the parts. Some reverb might help. Sounds like you tracked everything ok.

    An Old Challenge

I can't really make out the chords in the middle eight so that part kind of fell apart for me. I like the song though and the Disney reference was very funny. On my crappy speakers, the vocal is clobbering the guitar, not the other way around. I think the backing should be brought up a bit...

    Sunday Gone

I like this a lot. I seem to be the only one who thinks the vocals should be louder. It may be my crap speakers but I can barely hear them. Very original, which is a high compliment in that most of us (myself included) tend to rehash old stuff.
