I want my kick drum to kick ***.

not sure what kick sound you are going for but your's is flapping, by this I mean it's really heavy in the lo/hi mid. you want very little of this in the EQ. kick has 3 parts, thud, boom, and click(attack). the thud gives the beat and the click allows the sound to cut through the mix. Here is...

The Cowboy Song, Thin Lizzy Cover

Hey man, sorry been slammed at work. I agree with your points, no worries. This was done not so much for recording but something a little deeper. This was a band called Teaser that I got to know in high school ( 1979ish). The drummer was a mentor to me. Life happened and we all lost touch over...

The Cowboy Song, Thin Lizzy Cover

I recorded it all live in 1 room, 15 mics, thats where the challenge comes in, I am still working on the individual tracks. I am having to use alot of gates. I will check out the hiss, I know the snares are rattling in the beginning. Thanks for the input.

    The Way To You (Acoustic)

I like it overall, the intro is a bit rough. as has been said the vocal is getting lost behind the guitars. I really like your vocal, has a unusual tone to it. the vocal does have a mid range thing going on that makes it thin at times, maybe around 600 to 800?

High in the Sky - Blues original - 1st draft

Good start man, the drums seem to lag at times, the snare is a little loose sounding, maybe tighten up the snares and the top head. kick could come up a bit, toms could go down and they sound a little boomy. Maybe gate them a bit. love the vocal tone. guitars sound good, in the solo maybe a bit...

    Live recording ZZ Top Cover

Ok, Fuuuuuuck!:D 3M, I shortened up the verb and the decay tail. Johnny, I duplicated both guitar tracks, panned them opposite of the song for the lead ride, linked these 2 tracks on a VCA fader and used automation to pot them up in the solo. Thoughts?

    Live recording ZZ Top Cover

Thanks. I can shorten up the verb. Thinking of trying a amp sim on the bass. As you can tell im struggling with it. Is the rumble you are talking about a low mid thing? Like 150 or so?

good old country rockabilly groove. I like the vocals alot. kick still has a high mid thing going on. but thats nitpicking. reminds me of all the brain cells I killed in the honky tonks around Hattiesburg growing up. good job!
