So for the past week I've been trying to soak up as much knowledge as I can about treating room acoustics. Unfortunately, the more I read and learn the more I feel like I know nothing. I was hoping some of you guys could help guide me in the right direction and answer a few minor questions. The...
Yea, I did the whole cable thing. And funny that you mention the actual knob because that thing is finicky too.
I checked out the Dangerous Music D Box and I really like it but I don't need the summing features.
Anything out there with the same quality thats just a monitor controller?
The unit is just being finicky. Sometimes it will output to just one speaker, sometimes both. I changed speakers and the same thing.
If I if I feed the Mbox Pro via SDIF to the D Box, I would be bypassing the Mbox's D/A?
Oh ok I get it.
Im using an MBox Pro.
Do you guys know of any in the middle ground in terms of price range?
I was looking to spend like $700-$1000.
No really ready to take a 2k hit right now.
I've had my Mackie Big Knob for a few years now and I think its finally conking out.
I was wondering if there were any high end companies producing the same kind of controller. If I'm going to have to replace it soon, might as well upgrade.
Thanks
Own a pair of Mackie HR824s but one of my speaker cones got damaged during a move. I was planning on replacing the speaker but decided to look around a little bit.
What are you guys using? How much do you like them? Heard anything you really liked lately?
So I actually did some searching and found that Accusound is the company that manufactures the cables for Telefunken. I saw that they offered a 7 pin XLR made for tube mics on their website for lower than what Telefunken was selling a replacement cable for. Only thing was it had a different...
Hey guys,
I own a Telefunken AK47 and its been giving me some problems lately. Sometimes I'll turn it on and its super quiet, sometimes its at correct volume but it filters the sound, and sometimes its fine. Usually when its not working correctly, I'll fiddle with the power supply or cable and...
Wow, nice. Thanks so much!
Like I said they were a mixture of Addictive and Slate. Specifically, we used Slate Trigger which helps deal with velocities much better than having only 4-5 samples to replace with. All the samples were bounced from either the MIDI via Addictive or from an audio...
Wow, thanks! That really means a lot. I struggled with the concept of recording emulation for a while but this gives me some confidence.

Anyone else? More opinions would be greatly appreciated!
This is a new song my band just put out. Really would like an overall critique on the production and mix.
The following is a what I used for all the sounds.
Vocals - Telefunken AK47 --> BAE 312a Pre --> API 527
Electric Guitars - BAE 312a Pre --> Peavey Revalver --> SIR2 w/ Impulse Response...
Thanks for all the responses everyone. We did listen to a song he mixed and it was aight. The quality of the mix we received does not reflect the same quality as the sample we listened too. I can't get myself to believe that his incompetence doesn't leak into the rest of his work. I can't be...
Yea a sit in is out of the question. He's across the country. Whats protocol here? Do we just like give him some money for his time or do we just tell him it ain't gonna work out and leave it at that?
I honestly didn't expect it to be what we wanted on the first draft. I was sure we would have some revisions but I mean he has a bunch of stuff wrong. I had a whole section on the list that was dedicated to delay throws and I don't hear 95% of them. Unfortunately although I would like to get...
So long story short, we had a production that needed mixing. We contacted a mixer that we thought was credible enough to get the job done. We ended up not fitting into his schedule so he recommended one of his colleagues. This colleague didn't have as impressive of a track record but the dude we...
