trying to work out some chords to these triads

True. I do too. It's always interesting to apply some theory to inspire new ideas and directions.

trying to work out some chords to these triads

Hey there Whatmysay, yes I was refering to the original post where the cord in question was C F# A. So the C# F# A you suggested does make a F#m :) Enough theorising ~ lets jam it out until we work it all into a new song:D

trying to work out some chords to these triads

The last triad is a Cdim and you could use it to resolve back into the C#minor. Try using the Cdim to take you into an Emaj or a Gmaj if you are looking for somewhere else to go with the progression and see where that inspires you to go. The Cdim does pull your ears out a bit after the plainer...

Hey Bruce, check out the Boss BR1600CD. There's some comments in this site to give you some food for thought. I'm very happy with mine. :)

    Line 6 Poll

I'm guessing we're all here because we do some form of home recording so yep, modellers are a means to an end. I've got a Variax 300 and a Boss BR1600CD in the spare room and do most of my recording at night so a Variax and the amp models/effects in the Boss are a good solution. No pickup noise...

    Suggest me some Tele Pickups

Hey Telepaul, if you want to keep with the 'Tele' sound and eliminate the hum, you could try Fender Noiseless pickups. There are also the EMG set but I find them too clean and IMO 'sterile' but some people love them for that reason. Also, check out this link http://www.kinman.com/ this guy...

Seagull S6+CW - need advice on adding strap button/fixture

Pin danger Hey there mrbowes A word of warning re the heel where you are intending to put the strap pin... it is possible that your typical strap pin screw (e.g. Dunlop or Planet Waves)will be a 1 or 2mm too long and hit a bolt inside the heel. I work in music retail and this used to be a...

Want a Fender that sounds like a Gibson?

Hey Nightfire, did you get the TC90 yet? The TC does look cool and if it plays well for you, it looks like you'll get a tone thats not stereotypical Strat, Tele, or Les Paul so you could make it your own sound ~ the rest is in your fingers ;) I'd be surprised and impressed if you found a similar...

Wait for your love (Christian tune)

Good luck ~ it could be worth trying a version using Upfiddlers idea ~ if it doesnt work it might turn into a new song:) Try the jump to Bb and see how you like it compared to Bm. It's a different tension. God bless.

    BR Mastering Steps

Hey Dumby, I had a listen to Slog and Displaced Aggression. I used headphones for the first time on my new 1 month old computer (in fact this is the first computer I've had that can handle songs off a website :o ), anyway my computer speakers are tinny and the headphones had a low bass hum...

Wait for your love (Christian tune)

Nice. Like a Psalm. David would be proud ;) I dont know your melody (of course) and it depends on your emotion and phrasing when singing but the rhyme of the 1st line seems out of place (on paper) considering the rest of the lyrics not having any blatant rhymes, "God if you’re there, please...

Want a Fender that sounds like a Gibson?

Have you checked out a Line 6 Variax 600 or 700? Thats one way to get the sound of a Strat, and various Les Pauls, Ricks, Gretsches, Teles, 335's etc etc. Don't be afraid of the modelling stuff if you are looking for a variety of guitar sounds but cant afford all your favourite guitars or are...

Can an acoustic/electric record as well as using a condensor?

Fishman and Shadow do saddle piezo pickup/mini condesor mic blender type system (cant remember model numbers). The little condensor is on a goosneck inside your sound hole. Plug in and push the blender to mic for a 'true' sound. There will be surgery required to fit the Shadow control panel into...

    boss1200 / tascam 2488mkII

Boss BR or Tascam Hey Clevo, I checked out a Tascam and for my needs the BR1600 was best. The Tascam I looked was 24 track (cant remember if same model as you mentioned). However, I needed good guitar modelling etc, a decent drum and bass machine and loop sample player. The Tascam had crappy...

    BR Mastering Steps

Where are the BR users? Hi Dumby, I'm new to these forums and have been looking around for people using BR1600's to exchange ideas and ask questions. I've had a BR1600 for about 2.5 years now and recently downloaded the latest software update (Version 2.0). What are your current BR 'issues'...

Do You Like (Or Hate) Your Voice?

vocal lessons Hey Danny, dont give up on your own voice. One thing I found that helped my voice was learning breathing techniques from a vocal teacher. It made a huge difference to my control and confidence and it also improved my tone. Now I've accepted that my voice is what it is and use it...

Do You Like (Or Hate) Your Voice?

Do it yourself vocalists This thread has brought up some good stuff. In my early stages I didnt like my voice because I couldnt sing like my favourite artists. So I took a few vocal lessons from a good teacher who as well as helping my technique, helped me realise I should develop the voice I...

Advice on a Zoom 16 track

Zoom Vs Boss Hi Jeff, I bought a Boss BR1600CD for the similar reasons you are considering the Zoom. I believe the Boss units are better quality than Zoom and went Boss even though it was a little more expensive than Zoom. Have a look at the bbs Roland & Boss forum on this site. I left my...
