Just bought an A-Designs MP-2 Mic pre!!!

It is definately worth it and shouldn't be compared to the SM57 which is a totally different, although useful, mic. The SM7 is one of the absolutely best dynamics there is and it sounds great on just about everything. You will need a preamp with a hefty amount of clean gain though as it is very...

    Mixing and mastering... outdoors?

The idea has crossed my mind too. But since I mix with a console and lots of hardware, it's kinda impossible. If mixed ITB with a piece opf moniters, it would be possible to sit on the lawn and mix.

    Rode NTK, NT4, and NT5

The NT4 is great as an OH mic, btw. And superfast to setup.

    Hat bleed in snare

There is only one way to eliminate hat bleed in snare. That is to mic them in separate rooms. If that creates more problems then it solves, the other option is to learn to live with the bleed. IMO, mic bleed is often what makes it easy to glue channels together in a mix.

Who's cheap gear do you trust the most?

M-audio is the best "cheap" product manufacturer IMO.

    New converter on XT-20?

You can record at 24bit with the XT20 and an external converter, but you're limited to 6 channels in that mode. The last 4 bits isn't truncated when doing this, instead it's simply recorded elsewhere on the tape. 6 channels of 24 bit sound from a good external converter is what makes the Type...

Tired of moving the rack to reach the back of the preamps !!

It's true you shouldn't switch mics when the phantom power is on, but I don't see how it's got anything to do with XLR patchbays and snakes when used to move the physcial location of the input. I hope no one is stupid enough to hook it all up that way and then pull out the XLR's from behind the...

Brick loses in showdown to Behringer. wtf?!

If you experience the Behringer as warm and fullsounding, stop putting money into preamps and start saving up for new monitors.

Tired of moving the rack to reach the back of the preamps !!

I just use an XLR patchbay to get all my inputs at the front of the rack.

    I use monitors

"Vocals should not rattle the woofer." True or False?

With that lowcut, neither your woofer nor your monitors should make a sound at all.

looking for a great dynamic for recording vocal

    I agree with that.

Which is better? Shure SM58 or Behringer B5?

    The SM58 is better.

    D4 or Dm5?

If you're not able to read, yes, then you're back at the beginning. But I did point out that in isn't just a bunch of crappy sounds. It can be used as a 12-channel trigger-to-midi interface. I really don't know how to explain my point much easier... just read my above posts again again and...

    D4 or Dm5?

I don't know, you tell me... personally I've never tried that. Through the midi out, you could trigger any drumsound in the world with a sampler, be it hardware or software.
