*Phew* Those are two of the most boring guitarists ever... although I voted for Vai. He at least sometimes tries to break free from the "above 12th fret masturbation".
A notch better than the two asses in Status Quo.
My critisism was against the first version, the one Mackie sued Behringer for, which is considered to be the "best" MX8000... but it sucks. Buy something better and you will *not* regret it.
I've recorded excellent conga tracks with my Shure SM7 that I bought for $300. Great for everything else too.
But I really don't think you'll need a specialized conga mic, I've gotten acceptable results with the dreadful AKG C3000 too, where the hyped midrange actually helped bring forward some...
This is a funny thread to everyone who knows the B1 sounds like shit. If you love the mic, please, keep posting. I'm going to the kitchen for some potato chips. Brb.
Well, I did know that. My whole studio is wired so I can turn on console, speakers and the racks one at the time. No voltage in any outlet when I leave.
Wallwarts can of course get warm and so on, but they don't have to melt and burn just because some design has sometime. That's a silly...
I see. But if the sound is equal and the wallwart is cheaper (in fact much cheaper if unit is to be sold worldwide which it is), isn't that a better value then?
If the wallwart is of good quality and with performance enough for the preamp's power consumption, I fail to see why it should catch...
Anyone who think the new NEVE isn't a NEVE has their definitions of things mixed up badly. Some people in this thread seems scared that a new unit has arrived that may put their $2000 clones and copies to shame.
If you don't like it, don't buy. If you prefer the sound of another unit, good for...
I found the interview. The vocals for the songs "Thriller", "Pretty Young Thing" and "Billie Jean" were recorded through a Shure SM7 with serial number 5210.
According to notes from the session by Bruce Swedien.
I have an interview with Bruce Swedien where he clearly states it was an SM7 that was used for Billie Jean, and he also mentions the serial number.
The shure website is wrong, but it's understandable, since they weren't in the studio that day so how the hell would they know?
I'd say mics are more important than the preamp, with the mic placement coming in between, and the quality of the sound source (guitar/amp/voice etc) always being the #1 factor if the result will be spectacular or crappy.
The current sense thing is supposed to eliminate impendance mismatching, and make it possible to run extremely long cables between mic and preamp. It is a IC-design however, and the non-cs version has a transformer instead, and is supposed to sound slightly better. I have the cs model and am...
I can't seem to find information on what 2 rackmounted units would cost, since there is no pricing on the rack itself? Total cost=$(475x2)+?? Am I missing something?
I can't see why anyone would buy less than 2 units anyway...
The 40-A shown here http://www.dorrough.com/dorrough/products/Analog_Audio_M/40_Series/40_series.html
Is the price $475 for a racked stereo meter, or for an unracked mono meter?
