There used to be a group of MAMIL that met up downtown and rode en masse out past my place. I was riding a lot but wasn't trying to keep pace with them--they'd pass me all the time, lol. Somebody asked me if I rode with them, I told them,"No, I don't fit in. They spent more on their riding...
A few years back, I was offered a deal on an A100, but had no way to move it. Dodged a bullet there, since it was pretty obvious that it needed a lot of work.
I've played a couple Mustangs, but haven't tried the software yet--a friend told me his is pretty versatile. I have a couple tube amps, but usually use my SS amps, especially since I got a J-Station a couple months back. $24.00 for a 6X4? not at my house.
I went from 10.6.8 to 10.9, everything Intel works except for a few free plugs. LE9, MainStage 2, and GB '11 are fine. Keyboards and controllers are good.
Went ahead and downloaded GB 10 since it was free. It installs to a separate file and doesn't overwrite GB '11. It does appear to be Logic...
I've used Amplitube and Guitar Rig, liked GR better. Now I have amps and FX built in with Logic 9, but haven't really delved into it yet since I picked up a J-Station last month. It's still pretty good if you tweak the settings a bit.
I use Logic Express 9, before that I had Cubase 5LE and tried other LE daws I got with equipment. LE9 would be more of a mid-range package. GarageBand is more the low end, although GB'11 has gotten much better. I'd really not like to get into spending lots of money on ProTools--at this point...
That looks sweet. I had a '41 Epi Triumph for while--that built up my fingers. A guy came in the shop one day as I was playing it, bending notes on .013s, etc. He asked me what I did to get an acoustic to play like that. I said, "Practice."
Your preamp won't work without the 9 volts. Some A/E have an XLR connector, but I don't know if that will allow phantom power to work. Maybe a rechargeable 9 v. battery, I've seen them as NiCd's, maybe now in regular rechargeable (eneloop, etc.).
No, just use the USB cable (get a small hub if you don't have enough ports). I bought the iO2 express because it had the MIDI ports, but I only need it for my older equipment. A new Oxygen 25 has software to adapt to most modern DAWs and will save you a lot of headaches.
Regular 9 volt, don't know what the battery life is. Had one in a store I worked at and I used it a little to see if I could work it. I think a Sustainer would work better for the way I play.
