    What's your keyboard setup?

Another vote for the Keystation 49, although I did find an Axiom 25 v1 at a yard sale. Nice to have the adjustable pads and aftertouch. Also a Yamaha PSS-580 I found at a sale for $10.00, wanted to see if it would track better with my guitar through the Sonuus G2M, but no, a faster computer was...

Yeah, but its not a real song, because you did it on your computer!

When I got my first four track, I worked up a song with Casio drums, bass, guitar and vocals, mixed it down to stereo and took it with me in a Walkman to a friend's gallery showing. When people asked me what I'd been up to, I pulled out the Walkman and said,"Here it is." Nobody questioned the...

Should i use dual computer monitors?

My second monitor is wide aspect, so it sits on top of the left monitor speaker, which is on it's side. It's top is just about even with the top of the 19" square (main) monitor. That's how it fits on my desk.

Which soundcard to use for a G3 Macintosh.......

I started with a Tapco LINK.USB in 10.3 on a B&W G3. You might need to go OS X and a USB card to get in the ballpark--hopefully somebody can help you out.

Should i use dual computer monitors?

When LCDs started showing up used for less then $25.00, I started changing out the CRTs. Now I have four--two for the main computer, one for the backup and one for a spare. The last one I bought was $2.00 at the Salvation Army because it had no cables--but I do, lol. There's much less noise...

    Apple USB keyboard

If you got the keyboard used, it could have some bad keys or have had spill damage. Google "wash Apple keyboard".

    let me see your studio!

I think everybody's got the same office/computer chairs, I've got two--was lucky to be able to take the arms off one to play guitar on.

    Fretles bass

But that fretless conversion may benefit someone else down the road :D. That's how I got my Peavey T-40--some collegiate types made it fretless, put a Wilkenson bridge on it, and otherwise screwed it up, then got frustrated and put it in the trash. Then I found it, swapped the neck, rewired it...

    Being in a band.....the myths.

The hosers you're playing with will show up for practice all at once and on time.

Does Anybody Have Enough Experience With Peavey Bandits To Comment on Reliability?

I've had two Bandits--the first 65 w and the first TT, both good amps, especially the TT. Also have a TT Studio Pro 65 rehoused in a wooden cab with a G12M70, got the chassis used in trade for a POS HP computer, and the speaker came from a second hand store out in the boonies for $15.00, so I've...

What was the first song you learned to play ?

Mostly just the bits and pieces of songs in my lesson book, but I had been working on scales and stuff before I started lessons. At least my teacher was impressed, lol.

Simple "All in One" Synth/Midi controller?

Bear in mind you don't have to learn everything all at once. From what I read, the xyo synth looks to be a one cable solution, much easier than trying to configure an interface, a controller and a keyboard.

    Picked this up today

A friend of mine had one of those amps, never got to try it out, though. Back in the late '70's, I had the older model that Phil X uses, it was nice, but got burned up in a fire. Hopefully those reissues aren't rebadged Crates at inflated prices, I have my doubts.

Sonuus G2M - problems connecting to computer

Do you have MIDI input on your interface? That's pretty much the only other way short of a good (MAudio, Yamaha) USB adapter. You can also have problems with your MIDI cables--I bought a new MIDI cable to go with the Sonuus, it was bad from the start. GC might be good if you have no other way...

Sonuus G2M - problems connecting to computer

I use a G2Mv2 with a MAudio UNO into a mac mini, no problems. If you got one of those $5.00 Amazon USB/MIDI specials, they don't work--at least the latency is pretty bad with the one I have. The guy who runs the Sonuus forum is pretty good about helping find solutions. I use the Sonuus in Logic...

My mic collection has grown but is it complete?

As long as I keep finding them cheap, I'll keep getting them. They'll fit in drawers, unlike guitars.

Adjusting action on an electric, maybe...

You have to watch out for the younger guys working in guitar shops, they don't seem motivated to learn much. They change a few sets of strings, do a few setups, glue a couple nuts and POW!--they think they're Dan Erlewine's nephew. There's something to be said for referencing the internet, but...

    Tascam DP-02 -Redundant

Well, it is portable and you already know how to work it. Maybe do some location work. I just sold off my DP-008, mac mini and LE9 can do a lot more.

Need suggestions for *cheap* percussion for acoustic song

There's a limitless supply of things you can beat on. I met a guy several years ago who was a percussionist--he had a duffle bag full of all sorts of stuff. His favorite at the time was a length of rubber hose, he'd spin it over his head and adjust the pitch by lengthening the section of hose he...

Adjusting action on an electric, maybe...

You'll probably need to raise the action a good bit to get started. Once you get a feel for it, you'll be able to play with a lower action. I have a couple guitars set up for slide, but they're not that much higher than my regular guitars. The main difference is a bit heavier gauge strings...
