    Any comments appreciated

I tinkered with the drum sound quite a bit. My previous attempts had all left the drums sounding dull and lifeless so I may have just over-compensated in trying to correct it this time. BTW, you're right, there is no bass. I don't have one. I just eq'd one of the guitars to try and give some...

More For Me To Learn So Here's One Last Tune For Your Critique....

I do believe I see David Gilmore coming...quick run and hide over there, maybe he'll just keep going... Very cool, I liked this one. You just don't know how it takes me back.

I never really tried anything bluesy before so I thought I would give it a whirl. I'm not overly excited about the song structure, seems to be missing something(maybe a decent bridge, hehe). As a general disclaimer I have to say what I'm sure most(if not all)of you have said at one point: the...

    A little comic relief...

Hi all... Fist things first, I was really bored last night and so with no "real" creative ideas I decided to have some fun. The following little story is what came out of it. Input on mixing is welcomed as usual but basically it was done with humor in mind and not recording technique. It's more...

    Opinions Please

I like this song. Mix sounds okay...the only thing I would do(as others have mentioned)is either compress the vocals where they seem to "jump" out of the song or simply retrack them. Good work...

    Guitar Tracks 2

Hi... All the loops in the GT 2 library are recorded at 100 BPM and are not "acidized"...If you import one of these loops at anything but a tempo of 100 they will either play out of synch, out of pitch or just sound altogether distorted. The upgrade to GT Pro fixed this, as its loop library can...

    The Quiet One

As always, nice guitar work. The chord progressions are outstanding. The lyrics caught my ear more on this one though... "...I've met the devil face to face but he couldn't lay my soul to waste..." Very nice work...Can't wait to hear the finished project.

Sounds good on recorder but not on cd??

Headphones almost always have a better stereo image than speakers and thus may give you give a false idea of how things really sound. My guess is your mix sounded nice and full on phones and once you burned and played it in the car the sound kind of swindled away and seemed empty? Try re-mixing...

    weather channel local forecast

I like this song. Had a nice, relaxed feel to it...Sun is shining, quiet clouds forming in the distance, sipping on a cold one, enjoying that one prescious Sunday when no one's bothering you for anything, dog's laying beside you holding the bottle opener in his mouth, wife's out shopping...

    GT Pro drum loops

GT Pro Drum loops I've just upgraded from GT2 to GT Pro and have a question about the loop library. In GT2 you're able to click on the drag n' drop drummer to audition the loops you might want to use but in GT Pro an option for Smart Loops(which is packaged on the CD)does not come up. And...

    All ye critics come forth...

Thanks Lt. Bob...something in that guitar sound has been driving me nuts and you nailed it right on the head. It sounds like it's about 10 feet away, back in the corner. Now, if anyone with more technical know-how than me can tell me a good approach to solving the problem I would sure...

    My first mix...

As a relative beginner myself I can't offer much about mixing specifics(since I would probably steer you in the wrong direction)but I can pass along some general advice. When the heavier part kicks in (about 1:20 I think)the guitar gets completely buried and seems to turn to mush. Some eq on...

ok...I am going to try and

Here is my 100% pure gut response to this: I would have never posted my songs in here if I thought I couldn't get a fair assessment of what I had to offer. I have to agree somewhat with what your saying. Truth is, if I wanted someone to gush over my work I suppose I could play it for my mother...

    "Monkeyfart".....

Ah man, great fun. Having never heard the original mix I don't know what you removed but what remains kicks ass. Very cool. I love that bass sound.

    Another Nowhere Radio Question...

Hey Syd...not really sure what the prob might be. I'm still trying to figure out why you're the only one who wants to critique my new song(sob, sob, boo, hiss)...Okay, my moment of drama is over. Anyway, are you trying to stream something you posted? I know this is a stupid question but have u...

    A love song

"you're starting to smell bad..." That was funny. And you're right, some of the freaks on American Idol were far worse. Having said that, keep practicing the finer points of vocals. There's no doubt they'll improve. It's not nearly as bad as you think. Have fun...
