EZ Drummer 2- Anyone have a drum part for Cissy Strut?

I have a MIDI track that I programmed and used with Logic's Drum Kit Designer. It will be GM mapped, I don't know what mapping EZD2 uses or if there is some kind of translator if it's not GM. I'm at work now... if you don't hear from me in within 24 hours it means I forgot, so ping me. J

Recommendations for a MIDI keyboard/controller for Cubase?

I've got a Nektar Impact 49-key model. $160 new, I think I paid $100 to a guy on Craigslist. I like it a lot, though even after 6 months I still have to force myself to use the faders and knobs instead of the on screen controls. Setup for Logic was easy, the instructions are clear - I'd...

Just get an interface with enough inputs like the Tascam US1800. The DAW will be your mixer. J

totally new, question on ipad software

Is there a reason you want to record on the iPad instead of the PC? There's a few audio recording apps for iOS and I'm sure you could export wav files, via Dropbox if nothing else. GarageBand is $5 and, although it may be easier now, when I did it a year or so ago I used iTunes to transfer...

What kind of internal hard drive do I need for a Mac desktop?

I doubt that Logic is overloading because your hard drive is almost full. It may be because it isn't fast enough... Do you use a lot of samples? By that I mean multiple tracks of sampler instruments playing at the same time? I only very occasionally get an overload in Logic, and I'm never...

    expanding my mixing options...

Wow, that could be a really long list, limited only by your imagination and perhaps the accepted norms of the genre you are producing. Maybe you can provide a clip or description of a sound you are going for or a commercial mix you want to emulate, and then folks can give you suggested...

An Indian Song, for a change

Very nice song. The vocals seem disconnected from the instruments, the drums too to a lesser extent. They sound like they have reverb (or maybe a "room mic" on the drums). Maybe try sending a little bit of everything to the same reverb to put them in the same space and blend a little better. J

    Ny comp on drums

You can use on it on just about anything. I've used it on guitars. Anywhere you want to preserve transients and bring up sustain levels. You can stomp on it an you're still going to have dynamics in the dry signal. It can always, like anything else, be used for more creative effect; I think...

Do you know how to recreate this in a DAW?

I've made some progress on this. I have 2 oscillators going to a ring modulator (one is a side chain). That gives the drone-ish tone. The output of the ring modulator is going to a filter sweep. Adding white noise gives that whoosh and reverb gives it, well, reverberation. So those seem to...

Do you know how to recreate this in a DAW?

Thanks, this sounds like a promising path. Looking at the spectrum analyzer, I think there may be multiple tone generators. Or, the LFOs are sweeping through the harmonics of a fundamental - I see a constant tone around 240 Hz. Anyways, it will be fun learning and playing around. J

Do you know how to recreate this in a DAW?

Thanks for the pointer. I'll download the demo. I don't really want to spend any money for this project, but maybe it will help me figure out how it's done. J

Do you know how to recreate this in a DAW?

I wasn't sure exactly where to post this... I'm looking for suggestions on how to recreate this effect from The Cars' "Moving in Stereo": I think there's a number of oscillators running and a filter is being swept across them. It is periodic (and continues throughout the song), but the...
