    "Going Back" -- first post.

Chepney, Nice song . . . clean recording . . . good work ! Also listened to "Falling" and the "Genius Is Pain" songs. More of your work or is this by other artists ? The GIP song is fooking funny as hell . . . at least the lyrics that I could make out. Regards, PAPicker

    Criticism required...

unreal, Nothing to laugh about here . . . Nice work. What software did you record in ? I listened to this song paying more attention to the vocals than the MIDI Steinway. I think you have a very good voice, although, in this recording it was rather dry, meaning only that some nice reverb would...

    Here's one (please listen!)

Nilbog Tried but I think the encoding corupted the file. Maybe it's a sample rate problem. Regards, PAPicker

Can I Get Some Hot Water

drstawl, Another twisted masterpiece. For some reason it doesn't have the warmth and emotion you captured in "Cat Brains". Maybe it's the lack of vocals. PAPicker

    EBow - Anyone use it . . . tried it ?

Yeah, the one I'm looking at is $80, the PlusEBow at Musician's Friend. Why do you say I'm wasting my time if when I learn to use it I won't regret it . . . ?? I guess I meant . . does it sound like shit or is it worth the $$ ? PAPicker

pglewis> Thanks for the 2nd D/L and re-listening. The work on this tune is history, however. Ray J> Thanks for the review. Where in LA are you . . . North or South of the coonass boundry line of Alexandria ? I left my hometown of Ruston 20 years ago . . . never to return. Regards, PAPicker

The vocals were great . . . the acoustics sounded great . . . the percussion . . . yeah, great ! The song was well written and arranged. If I had to do anything to change it I would A )...

    Please sound check my re-mix

I finished the re-mix of "Model Man" yesterday. Again, it's at idrive.com. Enter "PAPicker" in the visitors block. The file is ModelManLoFi.MP3. With the suggestions you all gave me, here's what I changed : 1 ) Got rid of off-tempo MIDI wood block and added on-tempo, live wood block...

    Demo mp3 of an original pop/rock song I did on a VS1680

Boston . . Toto . . . Uriah Heap . . . Foreigner ? I dunno, I began hearing Bad Company that turned to 38 Special before it was over. Great tune . . . vocals, guitars, arrangement, etc . . . but, I'd say it sounds most like GordWait with a lot of musical influence mixed in. Can't wait to hear...

    Gadget Labs/Cakewalk stuttering issue

I'm A GL & CWPA9 user as well. The only times I ever experienced a problem this severe was if I tried to play a project that had the GL listed as a track audio output device and I had forgotten to turn on the GL breakout box . . . total meltdown ! Other than this, I've had no problems at all...

My MP3 file moved to idrive.com

Emeric > Thanks for the listen . . . I've decided I will remix this tune working mainly on the percussion, but I will take your advice also and tweak the vocal reverb to see how it plays. I will also use a real woodblock instead of MIDI. Thanks again to everyone for the advisement. Regards...

MP3 for the dog lover !

Gibs> Glad you liked it ! The "hair beats feathers" line is sort of an inside joke . . . we have a canary too . . . and a flying squirrel ! Doing the vocals for this tune was fun as heck. The dog sounds are actually the stars themselves . . recorded with an AT4033 I might add . . . I got the...
