Hi,
I think that the most important "musical information" is situated around the 1 Khz frequencies. If you boost the irelavant rest, you will miss the most crucial information in music.
I think SingleCoil will have to learn and listen to music in a new way.
Try to record acoustic instruments...
Could you please explain your problem in a better way? This in order to get a fair chance to a reply that can help you.
If I would aks a question like you did ...
Would you be able to answer?
Come again.
I think you need a faster Hard disk and more RAM. But you probably already think the...
It's good to see that you have an intelligent wife.
If you want to be a good recording engineer you'll have to learn, whatever equipment you are using. I'm very sure you have the perfect equipment to record a proffesional CD.
Don't loose courage and keep experimenting.
I have my VS880EX now...
The easiest way, and to many times over loocked, is to listen first without all the extra expenses. Everyone has fair stereo equipment at home these days. Connect your HiFi Amp with good speakers to the Line out's of the VS1640. By preference to Aux/CD in.
You will have to listen to your...
For me the Mackie 1402 is the N° 1 to get.
I agree with WAZZA. It's a N°1 because I've got a VS880EX, and a CDRII burner and my last purchase = my first condensor mike an AKG C1000S.
I'm most happy with my last purchase, but I guess is true for everyone who purchased anything. My 2 cents. See ya.
It could be useful to meet almost 2500 dedicated VS-recorder users, who often reply to most simple as complicated user problems. Most of the time I have found help without having to spend extra money, except for the surfing cost: < http://www.vsplanet.com >
Some users are proffesionals.

I'm glad that there is no similar antique shop like musicians friend in Belgium.!!![/b] :p :D
I guess when you buy old Fender guitars there should be no problem. Where I'm very doubtfull is were I read they sell modern technology configurations who are outdated already for more than 1...
Dear RJT,
I fully agree. I was wrong, and I hate to say it, but it's probably me. Good luck.
I also use a Roland JV-30.
I should read more carefully.(and I will)
Regards,
Hano
If you make a digital copy wich is encoded, whatever the code is, that code will be reproduced where ever you copy it to.
If you record a CD over analog inputs, and than burn it to a CD, you have skipped the encoding beat.
The first Roland VS880Ex that came out in Belgium was loaded with a 2.1 Giga drive in June 1999. Why would they still sell any with that same configuration today?
In the shop were I got mine in August'99 they had a 5 Giga drive installed to be able to keep the prices the same for a while...
Sorry to say, but "you're wrong" Ray.
Please read the technical data in the back of your book again.
Internal processing of all sound is done at 24 bits. Even if AD/DA convertors on VS880EX are 20 bit. The convertors in 890 are 24 bit AD/DA convertors.
The Mass, MT1 & MT2 modes decide wich...
Luster,
I have just visited your website.
It shows that I was right about what I thought.
You stated < "I'm a musician and not a thief" > but I think you are only needing a digital (musical) copy machine.
What instruments do you play?
Bongo's & Credit Cards?

You are right about Philips.
And you are absolutly wrong about the VS840 / VS880 / VS890 / VS1640 / VS1660 etc.
If you are a musician, this is your tool. If you copied a CD from Philips with the SCMS code encrypted it is normal that the VS recorder will record that encrytion to.
Are you a...
Just a 880Ex user, with an idea.
Copy the whole track. Paste it on a virtual one. Than cut/move a bigger part than 1 sec. Cut copy & paste what you first intended and than replace it with the original track as you planned at first. Hope it helps.
The MTK presets (Mastering Tool Kit) becomes available to you, after you upgraded your OS software with Midi Files. They can be downloaded for free at Rolandus.com.
For VS880EX users: MTK becomes available at version 2.001. The highest current version is 2.005. This last upgrade mainly makes...
For dedicated technical advise I would call Roland on one of their free numbers.
Their service is very good, as many users will agree.
I couldn' give better advise, because I don't know for sure. I think that the VS880EX has the same FX-effect boards on board as an upgraded VS880 Expanded...
Have you tried asking this on a dedicated platform for VS recorder users?
I use a VS880EX, so I don't really see what you asking. Here is a link you might be want to use:
I always found answers there, about VS recorders, that is. Good luck.
With musical regards...
