If you have some sort of FX Pedal that has SPDIF out you could do it. Something like a POD X3 Live has SPDIF out so you could use one for vocals and one for guitar. I'm sure there are also mixers with SPDIF outs.
I feel your pain. My first time setting up cubase took me 2 days so 2 hours is pretty quick. Like arcadeko said, $200 isn't much so you have to expect the quality to suffer a bit. If you've spent a lot of time in a real studio you probably have higher expectations than a lot of home recorders.
Yeah, good stuff but it doesn't seam to work in cubase. The only way I could get a stereo effect on a mono channel is to send the mono channel to a stereo FX channel.
But even if there was a way to record a mono channel to stereo you would be doubling the size of every recorded file.
Again, Have you tried the FX Channel method. Worked like a charm for me.
Ha! Funny this thread comes up 'cause I just dug out my old Fostex 280 circa 1990 and have been transferring my recordings to digital. These things must be built like tanks 'cause it still works perfect. Even the transport runs at close to the same speed, I can play along no problem and still be...
@jimmy69: are you sure about the stereo using an insert on a mono track. The only way I got true stereo was to add an FX channel and route my mono track to that.
@FVH: Did you try the FX Channel? Also are you EVH's (Edward Van Halen) long lost brother Freddie Van Halen who unfortunately decided...
Is it a lot? There is an option in the Device setup screen in the "VST Audio System" page to "Adjust For Record Latency". I think the default is for this to be selected but it's worth a shot.
Yeah, Those master levels shouldn't be pinned like that for sure.
What Firewire card / chipset are you using? I had all sorts of weird problems before I got one they recommend.
That is a little strange. I know Cubase won't recognize a USB MIDI device if it's plugged in after cubase has started but a restart of cubase will fix that problem.
Not sure if it's impossible. You need to read up on the VST and see what MIDI control codes it'll take and use those. Otherwise there isn't really a way to record them unless you do it as a live performance type thing and record the audio.
Thats because your routing DAW 1 to Output 2 and DAW 2 to output 3 so when you use 1 & 2 only 2 is getting picked up and when you use 3&4 only 3 is used.
You don't want to do it this way anyway. You want to send a mix to the outs not the individual ins. (see below)...
