Hey,
I did a little searching, but I couldn't really find an answer.
I have a friends Motif 8 here and I want to record some external MIDI into Logic 8.
This is my problem. I don't know how to set up multi-timbral mode in the Motif. I want it to be able to receive the separate outs from...
wall partitions should be fine.
as long as the musicians have enough space, and they can see each other you should be ok.
As the engineer you'll have to be conscious of the miking and leakage that will most likely happen from instrument to instrument.
Have fun.
Thanks on the comments so far, I really appreciate them!
As for the auto-tune, yes, it was something they requested.
I'm going to beg them to re-do the vocals also (though I have a feeling it wont get much better).
How would you guys make it a bit more full before that beat besides adding...
Yea. I mentioned above about the vocals.
Imagine my displeasure in listening to them every time I sit down to mix.
I definitely hear you on the piano though. I didnt notice it before, but I think I may have a low cut on it.
This is a song I was asked to mix and produce.
Aside from terrible vocals, how does the mix actually sound.
This isn't exactly 'my style' of music.
The song is:
To Be Juliet's Secret - All Angel No Wings
The other rap song is just a friend's midnight project we work on when we're bored...
Ok if i am understanding you right this time, you want to open up the effect or instrument and mess around with it? If so, you should be able to double click on the plug-in on the track. That opens up the editor for any instrument or effect. After that mess around with it.
I'm not sure what the problem is, but try opening up what ever software instrument is running your MIDI sound. I think (in the case of the GM Piano) it's the ESX24 sampler. You should be able to change the instrument through the sampler, or by clicking the Media button on the right side of the...
Try using a pitch corrector plug-in. Then on an aux channel use a pitch shifter (try a 3rd and 5th for starters, but you'll have to play around with it depending on the song) plug in and mix the signals together so you have balance between the original pitch and the pitch shifted effects. Maybe...
Apple's iMacs are great for recording, but you could get a Macbook and have essentially the same computer. I was thinking about getting an iMac myself. I am using a Mac Mini right now, and it is incredible. I am going to purchase a new computer, and I am going to get the Macbook instead of the...
I've read and experimented with raising guitar amplifiers off the ground to get a better sound, but I have a few questions.
1. Why exactly does raising it off the ground make a difference?
2. How far off the ground should an amp be to start making a difference? (for example, would an amp on...
i didnt know that E Mu 0404s had XLR inputs
Anyway, what I would do is invest in a cheap 8 channel mixer, run all my mics through it, play the instruments and mix them as best as possible on your mixer, then use the stereo out on the board and run it to your 0404. Set up your DAW for recording...
yeah, with crappy lyrics, the music better be good.
i love ben harper. good music, good lyrics, and they mean something.
with modest mouse, on the other hand, i tend to get confused with some songs.
i still love them both.
hmm wait. i may have been fooled by your title. Logic Question...
are you only working with a digital recorder here or are you using Apple's Logic software?
there is an option to bounce under File. you can also bounce the tracks using the bounce button on the main output track. Before you bounce, it asks you what format you want to bounce the tracks. Rename the file to what you want it and bounce. you can also have it automatically add to your...
everyone's a joker around here.
anyway, i did as Travis suggested, and i googled sidechaining. This was the first link that came up. It's clear and easy to follow. sidechaining
You could try singing more clearly and sweetly...I really don't know how to help you.
If it's the quality of the recording you want to improve, get a good mic for vocals. MXL 990s are cheap and somewhat decent in my opinion.
If you want you're voice to be better, in a non-recording quality...
Absolutely crazy. I really enjoy this album. It sounds great. They do have some odd chord progressions and key changes in some songs however. I do love that album though.
I would also vote for Radiohead - OK Computer...Paranoid Android is a masterpiece itself.
I am also a sucker and will say...
