The problem is I think she cannot hear herself very well. If she can hear too well, she won't be able to hear the beats and other stuff which guides her tempo and pitch. So there is a good balance. i am guessing you can pretty much adjust the vocals and instruments separately, right?
I just...
This sounds really good. Well done!
Adding: If there is anything, I would like to see is maybe lower the vocals a tad so that guitar also comes in the picture.
Thank you so much Mspin. i tried lowering reverb for the vocals, but then the vocals sound empty. I 'think' its the problem with mixing to an instrumenttal track. hard to get the vocals blend in.
Thanks Schwarzenegger! the link is working for me though. Thank you. I am sending it to vocal...
Unless you fix your room accoustics, none of the mixing science would make much sense.
And why not use both headphones and speakers? If it sounds good on both, then it is even better
Thanks guys for the reply.
I agree about the ear part. I just want to see what others are using. I am guessing if you are close miking the room acoustics wouldn't come into play much. but then the proximity effect would come in. i am using a Shure beta. I dont know if my voice has too much...
I am wondering when you do close miking, where does your high pass end up at?
I have mine at around 250 -275 at around .5Q. I feel it is too much. I know it depends on the voice, but just trying to see what other people keep theirs at usually.
Thank you
Seriously, if you are this desperate to get clients, it speaks a lot of his program too. it's clearly not working!
And why not join the forum give some advice and then have your site as a link.
Also, with a condenser mic you need to worry a it room acoustics and stuff. It picks a lot of background noise.
Dynamics mic are pretty good for home recordings, especially beginners.
Atleast at the guitar center by my place, the people who sell stuff doesn't really know much about audio stuff. You would think they would be pretty knowledgeable, but they are not. So be careful abut what they tell you.
Get a vocal coach for a few sessions. They can tell you what is your range and how is your tone and such.. You sing well.
And I get the feeling that this song is out your range.
You do sound like some of the current hip-hop stars :)
As someone else said, you need to get vocal coach if you are serious about it.
A lot of the stuff people comment about could be the mic position, the room ambience and the added effects, the backing track. And i don't think anyone can...
I think you can sing very well! Try recording with some instruments.
The problem with singing programs is that there are so many out there and everyone claims that they are better than others. They are like diet books. If you can find a vocal teacher who teaches in a university nearby that...
You know if you type the word de-essing in a site called 'youtube', you can learn a lot. :)
Here is one video from the above method: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=agaPwlgSQao
Watch couple of videos, try it out, and then asks questions.
You can sing very well. Check where your tongue...
Does the height of the ceiling affect the reflections? My ceiling is only like 6'7'. Is that too low? I just have to much low end in my voice and I am like 6-7 i away from the dynamic mic.
And do you need absorbants in front and behind the mic? Or you only need one one side?
If she isn't motivated or want to get better, there is no use of you trying to help her by posting her songs.
I would have her redo it a few times and when she feels like she got a good take, post it here. Unless you are a very very good singer, people don't get it right the first time. If you...
Bro you sound pretty good! It is not my language nor my genre, but I loved it. You would sound like a pro if you record it well.
I think it is time for you to spend some money and get some recording stuff. And there is a new subforum about recording with tables and smart phones. Maybe post it...
