    Depends on your Daw. Some daws do have Audio to Midi output. Often this uses Melodyne.

    But the recording itself (barring any external stuff you add - guitars vocals drums etc) stays inside the box right up to the point you render it down for a wav or MP3 or whatever? So outboard effects demand D/A AND A/D conversion, which is the weak point. Whereas VSTs do not demand those TWO...

    Use Pitch correction (even though I can sing very well). Often notice slight missed notes way after vocal tracking's done. Also (just to answer some stuff said above): I also use editing to nudge a mistimed note into place. That's the joy of digital recording/DAWS etc. As for those who...

    Hey there. Came across this yesterday. Magix Music Maker DAW is now FREE | Emusician Magix makes Samplitude and Sequoia, the big Daddy DAWS I use and used. But Music Maker will allow the use of VSTs like Melodyne and frankly, this is an astonishing (and allegedly permanent) offer.
