well this is as high as I really have the budget for.
You see im 13 years old and I'm just using these mics to record my drums for some tracks for my band. It's nothing very serious.
Out of these two pencil condensor mics which do you think would be better for overheads for a drumkit?
I am aware the ECM8000 isn't actually a microphone for recording, but is a signal detector for PAs or something, but I've heard it works well??
The ECM8000 is $50 each
The Samson C02 is $119...
well my bassist uses a 120watt ultrabass behringer and it has a XLR Direct Output in the back of the amp... that would still mean he has his "sound", right?
because you were talking about going straight from the bass guitar, right?
Soulution 1: The thing is I have to turn it up ALOT and I want it to be so that when people listen to the song they dont have to turn up the speakers just to be able to hear something.

Anyway it's a pretty good...

1. micing a guitar amp and then plugging the mic into a PA system,
2. plugging the amp into a PA system from a line out socket?
and 3. just plugging the guitar straight into the pa?
(PS I just chose guitar as an example)
can you tell me the differences AND...
Thanks for the help scrubs, I'll read up that tutorial when I come home from school. Anyway could you please explain what a mixer and a pre amp is? Picture would be helpful too .
Thanks alot
Chris
I see... Is there any cheaper mics you can do this with? I'm on a really low budget... And could you explain what phantom power is? And what mixers and pre-amps do?
Sorry I'm really new to this whole thing :D
Hey guys, I'm buying new TAMA Superstars and new ZXT Cymbals very soon and I am on a low budget and I was just wondering what is needed for some cheap recording - im 13 years old and this is just for messing around and nothing serious. Would using Two Overhead mics and one kick mic be doable...
