Out of these two pencil condensor mics which do you think would be better for overheads for a drumkit? I am aware the ECM8000 isn't actually a microphone for recording, but is a signal detector for PAs or something, but I've heard it works well?? The ECM8000 is $50 each The Samson C02 is $119...

well my bassist uses a 120watt ultrabass behringer and it has a XLR Direct Output in the back of the amp... that would still mean he has his "sound", right? because you were talking about going straight from the bass guitar, right?

Soulution 1: The thing is I have to turn it up ALOT and I want it to be so that when people listen to the song they dont have to turn up the speakers just to be able to hear something. Solution 2: OK ill experiment with some limiting/compression.
