    Headphone amp...

You'll probably be fine with the Behringer HA4700 POWERPLAY PRO Headphone Amp because it looks well built. I'd recommend you stay away from the Behringer AMP800 mini-amp headphone amplifier though, because i've barely used mine and the fourth channel has already shorted out.

    EP first mix is done!

slightly off topic, but you might want to not listen to any of the songs for a week or so before you have a listen again for faults, and it will be like hearing it fresh

    Irish Medley

Hi, I recorded my Dad doing this Irish medley, the performance isn't perfect but tell me what you think. The vocals come in at 4:30, on the last part of the medley ('Raglan Road' by The Dubliners) Anyway, feedback would be appreciated. I used Audacity, a Shure SM57 and Behringer XM8500 to...

    usb mixers ??

^^ This is true. USB doesn't have the power to transfer more than 2 Channels at a time... also known as stereo. You might be better just getting an anolog mixer which will cost less, and just go from the RCA Outs into the Line-In of your PC Soundcard.

    noob vocal recording

if she is singing to a backing track/accompiant of music you'll want to be playing that to her, if shes not and if its just solo vocals she might want to play to a clicktrack. It all depends on what shes used to, if she is used to singing this song to an accompniment, get that in her headphones...

    Guide To Compression?

Hey is there a guide anywhere for basicly how compression works, and how to work it. I'm aware everythings about personal taste of course, but to start with people (like me) need to know what everything on a compresser will do to the sound and how to use it to your advantage. I searched but...

Presonus Inspire 1394 with Pro Tools

Hey guys, I searched about this and found nothing :) I was wondering if the Presonus Inspire 1394 will work with Pro Tools? I'm not too familiar with Pro Tools so it may seem like a stupid question but I am under the impression that Pro Tools is operated differently than, let's say, Cubase (I...

Best sounding album you have ever heard?

im not sure how many people listen to Choking Victim on here (they were an NY Ska/Punk band), but the clean ska guitar, distored guitar, drums, bass, and vocals on 'No Gods/No Managers' are all spot on and sound incrdeible and despite being a well-recorded album still retained that raw punk sound

Help with USB mixer and cubase

I use the left and right technique too... Then split the stereo track and make both tracks mono... I used to do this in Audacity but now I am new to Cubase - how can I split stereo tracks and make left+right channels mono in Cubase?

    Old School Panning

I was just thinking about that today... The Doors first album had the entire drumkit panned hard left - it does get quite irritating when listening on headphones but as said above, it was at the start of stereo and it was done SIMPLY to show off that they CAN pan things :)
