Superior Drummer Installed.... Where is it?

SD2x will (if installed properly and it looks as though you have) show up as in the instrument insert plug-in pull down list of a stereo (not mono) but stereo instrument track. I'm quite familiar with the TT products, so let me know if you are having more problems. Additionally, TT has a...

    clearer and louder final mixes

One of the tools I use to get a feel for what it may sound like after it has been mixed and possibly mastered is Ozone 4. It's like a swiss army knife, but it should give what you are looking for. Comes with a decent set of presets... and you can try the real full deal for free.

    Low latency monitoring

If you are using a "send" from the recording track to an aux track running a reverb plug-in, make the "send" pre-fader. That should allow you to hear the verb even though the recording track is muted. I do this with the projectMix I/O so I am making the assumption that the 003 and LE will work...

    Apple iMac 24" and protools

I just built a system for a guy based on that platform (iMac 24" 2.66Ghz) and it works perfect. One bit of advice, choose your interface wisely (unless you already have one). Because this rig is overseas (Malaysia) and hard for me to trouble shoot (from Canada), we picked up a USB (Fast Track...

    Popping noise in protools.

Sorry, wish I had better news, I didn't realize the newest new iMacs didn't have a FW400 port.

    Popping noise in protools.

Probably not the memory, have you tried chaining through the FW800 interface of the drive, in other words; iMac >FW800 >FW800 Interface on the MAXTOR > FW400 Interface > 003? I am suggesting that configuration because of this thread at DUC; http://duc.digidesign.com/showthread.php?p=1407491

    Popping noise in protools.

Yes that would be a good solution on a Mac Book Pro, however there is no pci slot on an iMac. What could be tried (if not done already) is to daisy chain the the 003 through the drive BUT into the FW400 port on the iMac.

    Popping noise in protools.

Which port have you daisy chained into on the iMac? (FW800 or FW400)? The iMac shares the FW bus internally between the FW800 and FW400 port. This created a lot of grief for me (popping, cracking and eventually PT shutting down).

    Popping noise in protools.

I have been running my iMac implementation with a projectMix I/O for a couple of years (on two different iMacs, one new alluminum, one late 2007 intel) with the projectMix I/O connected to the FW800 port using a 6 to 9 pin FW cable and the Maxtor One Touch connect to the FW400 port on the iMac...

Running Pro Tools on Mac/Windows PLEASE HELP!

I have to throw my hat in the "why would you do that" ring.... if you must run windows XP on a MAC, just use boot camp. I have run Windows under VMWare and Parallels and have found them both adequate (barely) for running business apps (office, etc...), not for real time processing, there's just...

Initial problems with LaCie D2 Quadra and PT 7.4

Well you could try chaining the drive thru the 1814 into the FW400 port, the 6 to 9 pin converter (which works on my iMac)... or a SIIG Firewire port PCIe card.... Sorry I can't tell you which one will work for you...

Initial problems with LaCie D2 Quadra and PT 7.4

The configuration above is actually from the DIGI support page. I would try your drive into the FW800 (on the MBP) and your 1814 into the FW400 port on the drive. What I think this does is step the FW port on the MBP down to FW400. I run an (OS X 10.5.6) iMac with a projectMix I/O and what...

Initial problems with LaCie D2 Quadra and PT 7.4

Not sure what MAC you are running on (if it's in the thread, sorry I missed that)... what MessianicDreams asked is important. I am guessing that you have the 1814 on the FW400 port and the new drive on the FW800 port. Unfortunately some MACs (iMac, MAC book Pro, etc) although having 2 FW...
