There's an error message on 9.0.3 which states that "you can't use pro tools with this version of macOS". Upon updating to 9.0.3 the installation crashed at the end.
EDIT: AVID now has a public beta of 9.0.5 that is compatible with Lion. It's a start in the right direction.
I'm having the same problem. I bought my macbook pro w/ lion pre-installed on monday and pro tools wouldnt start up. The sales guy at the apple store told me they sold their last snow leopard units the day before. Just my luck :(
Mastering an audio recording is basically preparing it for commercial use whether it be in retail or on the radio. You could do it yourself and there are plugins that do it for ya but it's best to leave it to the pro's who have the right equipment and the ears to go with it.
This is another rough mix of a song that will be on my bands album. This is one of our more "regular" songs in the sense that it isn't acoustic (like the one I posted earlier). There's a couple areas in the vocal department that need to be automated but the rest is pretty well balanced...
Apparently there is something lacking about it. Whenever I played audio at 96k with the output rate at 48k, I got a "failed to open audio file" error. However that crisis has since been averted now that I've found out that the sound card on my Dell can actually handle DAW work AND goes up to...
...except this ones for real. This is an untitled track that will be apart of my bands first album, slated for release in the winter. We finished tracking most of it today and I've been itching to dive into it so I picked the easiest thing to mix and 30 minutes later I have something postable...
Why use autotune when you can use V-Vocal? It's already built-into SONAR. I'm not an expert on it but I do know it does have some form of pitch correction.
I feel that USB2 should be the slowest. Firewire always runs faster than USB2 because of how the computer handles the data. I don't know the technical aspects of it all though.
Yes, you can use the Open Media Framework format to transfer projects across platforms.
In SONAR, go to File --> Export --> OMF.
This type of file will open in virtually any DAW.
Not really a newbie per-se but I find I get answers more quickly in this thread.
I have equipped my year-old Dell laptop with an M-Audio MobilePre 1st gen., a Frontier AlphaTrack control surface, and SONAR X1 Producer edition so I can mix my projects while I'm at college. The problem is that...
kick feels a bit too overdriven for this tune. Snare could use more sparkle.
Nice tune. Great arrangement. Good use of stereo field. It fills the room up beautifully.
I'm callin' this a diddy because its short and sweet and easy to mix. This is a favor I'm doing for my cousin. She wants to give this song to her boyfriend for his birthday (awww). Not much to say about this since it only 2 tracks except that the guitar felt too heavy half the time but since...
I waited through Vista and upgraded to 7 because Vista was just too expensive and too many SKUs. Who needs a Super Enterprise Premium edition of the worst Microsoft OS since Win ME?
I'm not a mac person so bare with me on this question. I'll be buying a 17" macbook pro before september. Will all macbooks from here on out have Lion on them?
This actually sounds like Radiohead to me w/ the drums phasing in and out and the overall dark character of the song. All it needs is lead VOX. ;)
I think this sounds phenominal to be honest with you. I think the balance between the kit and the electric ins. is perfect but I do think it could...
