I always thought that the FP10 is basically the Firepod II, and the Firestudio line is something entirely different.
I very well may be wrong, so take it with a shaker of salt.
Probably not exactly what you're looking for, but have you considered a USB hub? One slot on your computer, and you don't have to get behind there as often.
MIDI in and of itself is soundless...for lack of a better term, it's basically a string of code that tells a computer what to do. You have to have something on the track for the MIDI to play (a sampler for example).
Are there any virtual instruments on the track you're running the MIDI to?
Yes, you will need to program a midi track for each instance of EZDrummer.
Put the pop kit on track 1 and program the beat on track 1
Put the latin kit on track 2 and program the beat for that on track 2.
Most DAW's (I use reaper and know it does for sure) have a bounce function that will output selected tracks to a single track with all the processing active. For example, in Reaper, there is a "render tracks to stem tracks and bypass/mute originals." What this does is takes whatever tracks I...
I'll second both replies here.
I've used both progs coolsoundman suggests, and they're very easy to manipulate both with a midi controller/e-drum kit.
Rimshot is also right however...more suggestions can probably be found in the "computer recording and soundcards" forum.
BTW...rimshot:

Another tip:
If applying the same amp models to all guitar tracks (for purposes of dual or quad tracking), the Ampsim can also be put on a buss. That way, you have 2 (or 4) tracks using the same instance of the sim.
If you still plan on going the FW route, SIIG usually has good stuff. I bought a SIIG card for a desktop model and it's been great. I've recently started looking for a PCMCIA card and they do make (all of?) theirs with the TI chipset.
Neil Zaza seems to enjoy his...
He might just be a corporate shill...but I can't get enough of his albums.
Check the vid on his artist page at presonus

I'm 98% certain he has external converters also.
Most ampsims will absoultely destroy performance. Having 5 of them open could maybe be the problem.
What I do when amp-simming:
Record one track. Bounce it with the FX, then deactivate the track/fx.
Repeat as necessary.
That way, you only have one ampsim running at any time. You're always...
