Well this is a little different from what I get the impression you want, but the Danelectro Cool Cat chorus sounds nice for rhythm if used sparingly. For some other cool effects check out David Gilmours new live DVD. He uses a combination of chorus, delay, and a volume pedal to get a great...
Sorry if I am hijacking this thread, but why does no one ever suggest the use of two matching (or not matching for that matter) ld condensers for miking an acoustic guitar?
I would think that the effects of panning are more pronounced with headphones because the sound of left and right is isolated to each ear, whereas with monitors each ear gets some of both. Of course you guys probably already know that, and I am just stating the obvious.
Well, I was leaning in the direction of the TLM-103, if I could find it cheap enough (around 500). Then I was hoping to find a pair of SD condensors. And I hope to do both the LD and SD's for about $700-750. Any help is greatly appreciated.
Hello,
I am currently searching for some new microphones and I am intersted in the idea of purchasing them used. I have about $700 so I was thinking about getting the SP C4 and C3 new, but maybe I could step up a bit if were to buy some used mics. So, can any of you tell me of places (either...
My experiences with the SM57 and recording acoustic have for the most part been bad. You have to put the mics so close to the guitar that you are always in the nearfield and you cant get a good "full" sound. It seems having a couple of condensors and being able to place them further away...
This sounds like it would be a lot like the EXG Expander that EMG makes. I have the EXG and the SPC (both made by EMG) in my strat and I like what they do. I much prefer the SPC (Which boosts the mids) though, as the EXG can get a bit harsh. You do replace tone controls with these, so it is...
This thread only confirms my belief that guitar players (and yes I am one too) are some of the most pretentious know-it-alls on the face of the planet...
I guess I am too for pointing this out.
No kidding, buying an Ovation acoustic with the intent of actually playing it acoustically was one of the worst gear decisions I've ever made. I'm getting a Taylor as soon as I can get rid of that thing....
If you are worrying about preserving your guitar signal, there are two very effective things you can do...
The first thing you can do is get a VHT Valvulator. It will convert the signal coming out of your guitar from high to low impedance. The signal will then travel with much less degredation...
