CG,
How much editing/splicing did you do to this clip? Did you cut out a bunch of bad takes and splice it back together?
Dale
PS- I just reread your post. When you pull up the spectral view of your audio track, is there a pattern to the pops, or same frequency?
Hello vofriend,
I found this on a Sound on Sound review of the ART Strip:
"That the USB socket offers a way to get audio directly into your computer system without a separate interface is beyond doubt. However, ART provide no dedicated low‑latency driver, and because the Voice Channel has no...
Robert,
I get it that you want to reduce your carbon footprint. But, I don't think you would realize much, if any, cost savings, by the minuscule amount of electricity saved, not firing all of the LEDs to paint the full screen. I am not sure it's worth the eye strain and headaches. This is...

Twiky,
You are most welcome. In my opinion, you have done a good job communicating your thoughts to me. I can only imagine the difficulty you have experienced. I found myself editing my responses, to remove my colloquialisms, knowing that they may not translate well.
Dale
Agreed. From reading your questions, you have been doing your homework. But there is a lot to be said for, starting small/frugal, learning, and growing from experience. You have received a wealth of experienced advisement, from a group of experts, who are trying to help you save money, get...
Since you are adamant about an SM7B, His rig will get you recording. Just replace his Audient iD22, with your Focusrite 2i2:
SM7B (XLR to XLR cable)>> dbx286s (TRS to TRS cable to Focusrite Input set to Line)>> F'rite USB-Out to USB-In to Computer.
You will have to make sure the gain staging...
You still require an interface. Go to 00:16:07 of the video and see that he uses an Audient iD22. I have an older dbx286A and still use a Cloudlifter CL-1, because the 286A operates at the limit of available gain, for the SM7B.
His rig: SM7B (XLR to XLR)>> dbx286s (TRS cable out to Interface...
Twiky,
I read your first post and you said the TV was "next door." In a later post, you said a "living room... with a dining table and TV...."
Maybe I misunderstood you. Is the TV in the same room as your microphone, and you are trying to record without recording the TV noise too?
If so...
I just found this, while researching products. Interestingly, it is available in 4'x8' dimensions.
Echo Eliminator™ Acoustic Panels << Bonded Logic
I didn't completely search distributor locations for my area. But, Home Depot was listed.

Steen,
I never thought about that Don Williams connection. However, I think you are correct Re: “nod to every...” This song came out in the “Urban Cowboy” honky-tonkin’ hey-days of the late 70s to early 80s. Like most of the songs of those days, I think the main goal was to get’em on the dance...
Gonza,
As Rob said, I have heard, from many VO artists, about how finicky the 416 is to address and stay consistent, for recording. I do not foresee ever owning one, since all of my stuff is long-form recording. I get along just fine with my RE20 and 7B for what I do.
I will have to defer to...
Dave,
The short answer is: it depends. If the Pops and Clicks are recorded, you might be able to remove them, with something like Izotope's RX7. Have you confirmed the pops/click are recorded, or heard only during playback? You might be looking at a RAM issue, if you are taxing the system...
Gonza,
I don't see a need for a stereo mixer. But then again, I do not know what all you have planned for your Twitch-cast. I would think that if you are going to use $1000 mic for Twitch, you will want a quiet AD/DA converter.
I do not make enough money VOing to warrant a 416 and have no...
