gbdweller: Thanks for the info. Great help Farview: You wouldn't have any recording of just guitar using the Laney would you? I'd love to hear what a Laney sounds like besides mine. :) I mostly use a Boss SD-1 with my head these days though. btw, What tubes did you get from eurotubes? When I...

I have a Laney AOR 50 Pro Tube Lead (the only date I can see reads 1986) and am going to replace the Preamp tubes (all I have money for currently, after buying gear). The tubes have never been changed since I owned the amp, I have had it for appx 15 years. The current tubes are: Power...

Thanks :) Actualy the thin guitar stops once the drums start in (I switch to the normal guitar sound). It comes back near the end then stops again when the drums come in again. Thanks for listening

Thanks for listening I used the iZotope Vinyl plugin for the thin sounding guitar. Did it sound like an error? Not supposed too. :p

valve [experiment] (new style for me)

I was experimenting with some new sounds/style of music and came up with this, no vocals- so it's sort of empty right now. valve (don't mind the few minor screwups) Looking for comments on the mix (pretty much everything) It might sound 'too much' like a certain band...(I always seem to do...

    6 quick questions...

The room is rectangle - 20' X 14' , 8' high. layout This room is used for recording (drums, guitar, bass and vocals) and mixing. I've been searching and I keep reading different opinions on some of these... Questions: 1- Wood paneling on the walls, yes, no? 2 - Wood floors or carpet? 3 - Bass...

What would you do? / help

My first goal is to define the space I need to get enough room to get my desk setup and a band. The band will come later on so right now I'm more interested in setting up a nice environment to play/record in. I was curious on how you guys would go about splitting the area if you have half that...

What would you do? / help

Doh Is a tile floor worse then a hardwood floor? We have no carpet on the second floor. The above area (top of the picture) is our kitchen and it gets less 'traffic' then the lower area where we have our living room upstairs with tv etc. Thanks for the tips

What would you do? / help

Hi, I will be starting to build a semi-studio type thing next weekend - basicaly a space where I can record and play as a band, nothing professional. I'm been reading up on soundproofing and studio setups and I'm a bit confused. Since this won't be anything professional is there a way (with...
