Lexicon Alpha random low/distorted left output.

A while back I was researching my first interface. I heard about the Lexicon Omega (close to the alpha), and almost bought it until I read a bit more on them. Basically, some of Lexicons products are like a box of chocolates, you never know if your going to get a good one. People complain about...

Only in a HOME studio...protecting your studio from children

I have some dust cover things I used to have over my speakers (I took them off because I like the looks of them that way). These can work for 2 purposes for your situation. (1). They look boring (get grey or black colored!). (2). They can prevent damage to the speaker tweeter and cone. Make...

    So........

Actually, I would recommend the book Confessions of a Record Producer by Moses Avalon (great book, considerable language in it though). It's great for both ends of the spectrum (musicians and engineers, producers, etc), I'm already 106 pages into it. I knew the music industry was bad, but the...

    Have i improved ??

It's getting there. Do you take vocal lessons by any chance? Otherwise, keep it up, it still needs work but your voice has potential. Right now it sounds kind of moan-y.

Cymbal Choice, please help, opinions please Im so confused

I would do the Sabians like Greg said. The HHX evolutions have a darker tone than the A Customs (but still loud and with a bright edge to them). You usually hear A customs in more aggressive settings (louder modern rock, metal, punk). I'm not saying they are not suitable for other situations, as...

    Super all around mic

Yes, if you can afford it the TLM 102 is a great mic. I have no personal experience with it, but I'm sure someone else here does. Some advice I can give you is for you to go and try a few mics for yourself and find one that you like, which would definitely be something worth doing. :)
