    Should I Get A SM7b Or A RE20?

Dang, I read through the whole thread... Very entertaining stuff! :D Can't believe I missed out on this, it was the perfect reverse-trolling opportunity. But I almost feel bad for the poor soul, he couldn't even find a mic good enough for him! :( All this fuss this moron gave, he could have...

Killing 2 birds with 1 stone + Studio Building Log

So as of yet I've still not made any bass traps because I've been err... Preoccupied. (a.k.a. lazy) :eatpopcorn: Now it's time for me to get back in line :spank: with my objective right now: Build bass traps. But I got this idea before I went to bed last night, what if I made a hybrid acoustic...

How does this make you feel?

Tru dat. Wikipedia defines garage (the same type I think we are all are referring to) as: "...part of a home, or an associated building, designed or used for storing a vehicle or vehicles." I doubt they actually stored cars around all that equipment, but one thing is for sure: Thats a pretty...

    >>>Heres something worthy

You forgot to attach your song. I would recommend attaching at least some kind of link to your track(s) when you post in the mixing clinic. Place 2 Go by Epixmusic on SoundCloud - Create, record and share your sounds for free One thing I would recommend is to work on maintaining a steady...

What kind of computer do you need for recording music?

Ah yes, the classic and inevitable Mac vs PC debate... :) It would help if we knew if portability is going to be an issue for you, but I'll include these options. If your looking for fast, cheap, and no frills: The newest Mac Mini for $599 (or an older used or refurbished one for less) and a...

    $20 for a verse

How good of a singer do you have to be? I've got a rabid squirrel outback hittin' some pretty high notes. I'm not sure if he is interested, but I would have to see. Hit me up if you want a sample of his singing. ;)

    Best Home Studio Headphones

Your mainly going to want a pair on monitors to use instead of headphones, especially for mixing. For just listening to music, headphones are fine though. Headphones can be used for mixing, but you still would want a pair of monitors. I'll let someone else clear this up for you a bit more..

Just picked up a Shure SM57 for $37

I saw a 58 for $19.99 yesterday! :D Too bad I would have to pay shipping on it.. And it was pretty beat up, but the mesh looked good and round.

New love song 2012, first ever song i wrote and sang :-)

I can't hear the singing that well through the mix, so I would suggest turning up the vocals a bit more. Otherwise it's not bad man, it's a good start! :) Keep it up!

    Maple or Birch?

Thanks for the input Greg! I was thinking as far as head selection goes: Frosted EC2's for the toms, frosted EC reverse dot for the snare, and a Powerstroke 3 on the kick. What are your thoughts on the EC2's, and what heads would you recommend for a well rounded sound?

    Maple or Birch?

So lately I have been looking around for a new kit which I will be buying this summer. I've been thinking about either getting a maple kit or a birch kit, and my main purpose for them is going to be for mostly recording and maybe some potential gigging. I have my eye on the PDP X7 6 piece maple...
