Even better: Go into preferences, choose dock settings, and click "Automatically hide and show the Dock". When you mouse completely over to the side that your dock is located, it will bring up the Dock.
At first I was not used to it, but now I'm incredibly thankful for this feature! Of course...
Yep, your right on! If you go the route of any sort of MIDI interface, that would be the correct setup. The MIDI interface will be separate from the audio interface, and will plug right into the iMac via USB.
If you plan to ever get more MIDI controllers, instruments, etc.. and use them at the...
Hi Tommy, the audio interface you have does not have any MIDI inputs like you mentioned.
You'll need something like this. Thats the simplest way I can think of that will get your keyboard hooked up to your iMac. (Something even simpler)
You just need to plug the MIDI cord into the MIDIsport...
Why don't you put up some of the songs you've done?
Curious to know, are you even a musician?
And according to you, shouldn't we just drop all our gear off a cliff and stop being who we are? After all, we are wasting our lives recording at home right?
And who the heck are you? Enlighten us...
TASCAM US-600 USB Audio Interface | Musician's Friend
Alesis iO4 4-Channel 24-Bit Recording Interface | Musician's Friend
You have 4 mics, so one of the above bad boys will do the trick. I use the Tascam US800 (the US600's big brother) and I love it.
The Alesis would work well too.
And...
Sounds like it's a problem with your RCA to 1/8" connection. You might want to look into getting a USB interface, one of those would rid of the poor quality your getting from your current connection.
Hi Brandon, I wanted to ask a few more questions about your situation:
1. What are you recording it into (i.e. the kind of interface or mixer, and how is it being routed to your computer)?
2. What was the position of the mic at in the sample, and was the sample of just the overheads or all the...
I don't know what "super cheap" is to you, but I would consider some Pro Tools courses on Lynda.com. They cover the basics and more in-depth stuff. Great stuff for only 20 bucks a month!
I find them very helpful on a variety of courses, but I haven't done any related to Pro Tools.
*I'm a...
Yeah Rami, your going to be pleased at the least when they finally sink to the top of dem' Billboard charts. They definitely will not be laughing the first laugh once that doesn't happen.
When do you plan to be un-touring when the album slides off the charts? I'd loath to be not be unable to...
You can keep your current mics, and use an audio interface like the others have mentioned. I've used a Tascam US-122L in the past (the updated version of that one is called the US-144), and I would recommend something like that. I found mine cheap on eBay for around $40-50 bucks.
The Lexicon...
I beat you to it :D
Click below make your ears bleed.. Then I recommend listening to Rami's original mix to stop the bleeding.

(I butchered the track, but I had fun doing it :spank:.. I can't believe I did this, I...
Thanks for clearing that up and correcting me, I appreciate it.
So it sounds like the idea really won't work, and I think I'll stick to treating the room acoustics using bass traps made with mineral wool.
And I'll try moving around the desk, but it's large and was made to be wedged right against...
