yeah the bass doesn't need that much muffling..loosen the tuning and that'll be it like tourette said. the boosting on the 5 and the 25 adds more highs...its very clicky.. experiment with it. as for toms and snare...a sm57 on snare and u can have 57's on toms too if you want. buy these rip...

Also try this on your bass to see if you can get a clicky sound. with EQ.. cut from 200-800 boost anywhere < 31 Boost around 5 and Boost around 25 >

wow...those are cad mics? for the bass....for that click sound...tune the batter head really lose...but not lose that you'll break it. also i see that you put your bass mic outside..put that inside and see what happens.

its just a little muddy on the low end... drums are sampled? nice voice... the guitars could use a little more clarity..it seems like. i love those leads man! good stuff..good stuff

for one mic it sounded pretty nice.. thats a very smart idea actually. i do the same since i only have 4 ins with my delta 44 (dulicate the overheads for the toms) it sounds ok.. the cymbals sound very dull and like your hitting a garbage can.. what set was used?

never broke any cymbals..i think i had the 5a versions. i played it and worn it out all the way down the metal things. i never bothered to change the plastic because for some reason..i just couldnt change it :eek: so then i was back on vic firths 5a :D

yes...tune the drums really well...and that will make the world's difference.

farview...i agree with you i myself just got introduced with the recording industry. your mixes wont come great if it doesnt come good onto whatever your recording dry. that includes instruments, and mics, pres...etc

plain minor....(aeolian) i use it all the time for improvisations because it is so easy to mix with the blues/minor pentatonic scale. there are so many variations - you can't just limit yourself to one scale :cool:

i like the 502 crash that came with the pack the rides are very nice too the hats are....ehh...it gets annoying after awhile.

i think theres too much reverb. the bass is cool the snare is...very...uhh..pingy. i dont know if you were intentionally doing that. toms came out great though. the cymbals are a little harsh (especially the ride) pretty good stuff

thanks yep.. i have one of those cheap ass drumsets :( cymbals are the paiste 502's (14 hats 16 crash and 20 ride) and the other crash is one of those shitty camber (by sabian i believe) 16 inch crash.
