Haha! Sounds like one guy we had over to give us a quote on finishing our basement -
His first question was "would you like this to code or not to code?"
Audacity works fine. It will record in Real-Time any audio that is being played through your PC. So make sure you shut anything down that might bleep or bloop. I used this to get the audio off of my copy of the David Gilmour Live DVD and eventually onto my iPod. Except for a few skips from my...
As long as they're not bumped around while they're running, it should be ok. Think about laptops - When they're being moved/carried/etc... they probably get bumped a bit. Now if the drives are power on and spinning, you probably want to be a bit more careful.
Look no further than a Goodall with a top from the "Big Goose Spruce" tree!

I actually played one of these at Medley Music/Acoustic Roots a couple of years ago. It was a used Grand Concert (I forgot what the B&S were made...
To echo some other posts, If you're looking at guitars around $1K (or even a bit less), then check out Larrivee. I have an OM03R which is a really nice instrument. Is it as nice as my OM/PW? No, but it's close (and 1/3 the price!) The 'R' has rosewood back and sides, as opposed to the OM03 (or...
If you're looking in the $3K range, please check out a Santa Cruz OM/PW (or D/PW if you want a dread); it will KILL anything Taylor puts out (IMNSHO) I sold my Taylor 710 to buy an OM/PW and haven't look back. As Light says, Taylors are finely built guitars, but the sound is just too sterile...
OK Fair enough. But the the fact that you had to scrimp and save for the Avalon is all the more reason to RESEARCH your purchase. It's usually folks who have too much money and no sense dropping big bucks on stuff they don't understand (see Digital Camera forums for folks buying a Canon 5D and a...
Yeah, Richard Thompson rocks! Somewhere on YouTube there's a video of him sitting in a hotel room playing 1952 Black Vincent Lightning solo on his Lowden. Most of the work is in his picking hand, and he makes it look so easy!
I play in DADGAD quite a bit, and I have no problems bouncing back...
Sounds like you're asking us how to play the piano/keyboard. That's a big topic! Do you have a few years to devote to this? I've been playing for over twenty years, and I'm still learning!
We spent some time helping you back in September, did you take any of our suggestions...
So you were six years old when you joined here??????????
Wow, I graduated college in 1999 :)
Don't think we had the internet (Al Gore had't invented it yet) when I was 8...
My Korg 01/WFD (early 90's synth workstation) has a great explosion sample! There is also a combo patch called "Bomber" (or something like that) where some of the keyboard range sounds like a jet flying around. You then hit one of the really low bass keys and KABOOM!!!!! Oh, and some of the...
I had a Classic 30, along with a Fender Strat (American!), which I sold in college as I was getting into acoustic stuff. I'm still more into acoustic, but I kind of regret selling my electric rig. But hey, I was in college and I needed beer money :)
No, where is it? Is the tin roof really rusted? Man, if I had a penny for every time I danced to that song at a school dance/camp dance/Bar Mitzvah/wedding, I'd be a millionaire :-)
