    Ibanez rg-550 Tuning goes down....

I have an RG550 and it's rock solid. Like mentioned, you may not be tightening the locking nut enough. Tighten those down. The springs may be old, which may or may not contribute to your problem. Also, always return your bridge to the same resting position. I.e., press down on the bar and...

Sonar Vs Cubase Or Should I Say Cubase Vs Sonar

More Sonar users responded because there are more Sonar users here at homerecording.com. If you want mroe Cubase users, go to Cubase.net. I agree with most of the other posts. Try the demos and pick the one you like.

    too close?

Mic'ed "too close?" That sounds like a taste-based opinion. Especially because I personally prefer the sound of close mic'ed instruments. They're more "in your face." Keep in mind, it is often necessary to close mic instruments. Mainly because you don't have a room with great acoustics. In...

Trying to decide on a new guitar amp... anyone hate Marshalls or have a better sugges

Charger's correct. However, you may want to note that I used to use a 25W combo at some practices while in a band with another guitarist. I think the other guy had a 100W Marshall half stack. At practice I had my 25W combo at head level, full blast, and I had to keep my head in front of it to...

Trying to decide on a new guitar amp... anyone hate Marshalls or have a better sugges

What's the point of a 400 hp Porsche? :p I.e., one point, as insinuated above, is more power seems cooler. In fact, Marshall is now advertising a new guitar amp that is something like 350W! I guess one use would be if for some odd reason you can't mic your amp in a large venue. Not...

Difference Between Les Paul Studio and Regular LP?

Cosmetics and wood. Possibly tuners and pickups depending on the model. The weight difference affects tone and playability. I own a LP Studio and eventually may get a Custom depending on finances.

Trying to decide on a new guitar amp... anyone hate Marshalls or have a better sugges

If you are going to crank the amp into power saturation, YES. Even a 25W amp is usually too loud for apartment recording. Generally, the only way to record a full open amp in an apartment is with an isolation cabinet. 50W is generally plenty at rehearsal. The biggest problem is not pointing...

Sonar Vs Cubase Or Should I Say Cubase Vs Sonar

For what it's worth, I've owned both throughout the years and have finally abandoned Cakewalk-related products such as Sonar for Cubase. More of a personal taste thing.

Trying to decide on a new guitar amp... anyone hate Marshalls or have a better sugges

IMHO, I'd love to have a TSL. Partly because I already have a Boogie TriAxis and Quad. The TSL would add another tone to my arsenal. If I had to choose, I'd obviously keep the TriAxis or even the Quad, but that's based on taste. It sounds like you like the tone and that's all that matters...

    Peavey!!???!!!

Ed's a god. However, keep in mind he endorsed Kramer. ;) Be that as it may, I loved my Peavey 5150, RockMaster, and Bravo. I still have the Bravo, and it's still cranking.
