what bands are using V-Drum, and what band are real drum!?

good call, i totally agree with the mix to your genre comment... i guess where it gets sticky for me is where i hear what should be rock music being totally glossed over and mixed like disposable bubblegum pop... like i said in a different post...linkin park sounds like britney spears with...

what bands are using V-Drum, and what band are real drum!?

todays platinum hits are tomorrows shitty sounding recordings... i guess i still feel that an album is at least in part an advertisement for a live performance...and then what you're doing amounts to false advertising...but whatever..round and round we go, eh... maybe i have too much punk...

what bands are using V-Drum, and what band are real drum!?

hey...i happen to like some of the drums on records from the 70's... but hey, i'm more of a plug and play kind of guy...screw the fidelity as long as the energy is there and the song is happening... drummers don't always hit the same everytime...and i appreciate that, so why use a trigger to...

    Limiting while recording

damn skippy mofo...seems like people are more interested in acheiving perfection than emotion in music today. Fuck generic bands with generic songs and generic production tactics. I must be getting older...nobody makes albums that i love anymore...they're all starting to sound like overly...

The drum recording you hate the most

yeah that comment was more about melon collie than siamese dream...but i do notice now how far back the drums are in the mix of some of the songs on both those albums there is one song in particular on melon collie...i can't think of which one...but the drums are ridiculously far back in the...

I need a crazy vocal mic!!!

try a $10 radio shack *shudder* mic... or get one of those 18Litre water jugs from a water cooler...cut the top off, put a small hole in the bottom, insert the mic in the bottom, and let the good times roll...look at me mom, i'm singin into, well basically a giant cup! works better with an...

wav files to audio cd -help!

i've had problems like this before it turned out to be a compatibility issue with my cd burner and the software i was using to burn cd's. or it could be the cd's themselves...i once bought a batch of dud cd's...you get what you pay for... that, and make sure that your files are at the correct...

    Mixing/Mastering with Waves Plugins?

amen to that and also remember that no artist is ever truly satisfied with their work, because they know they can do better...perfection is unattainable...but gaddamnit do we ever like to try...

    High quality distortion...

i wouldn't even use it for that. I would say get one if you're doing some kind of electro-thrash/industrial type thing. It will sound nice & harsh and synthetic. But for the love of drugs don't use a pod if you want anything that sounds close to a realistic guitar...it never will pod will give...

    Goldwave/Mastering

basically, that is as much 'mastering' as a 4-track in your bedroom is a 'studio' it's the same idea, but actual mastering is a lot more complex, with much more expensive buttons, and plenty of them...i think, but i don't know...i don't master, i'm somewhere between a bedroom setup and an...

    mixing down form tascam 688

688 has dbx and direct tape outs, but it's 8 tracks, so you'd need a sound card with 8 inputs...i still say it's easier to just mix it on the 688 itself...

    Hidden Tricks

I think that means each song is a prgression built off of the previous song...some sort of linear musical/lyrical/conceptual progression...it's, it's...blarg...i can't explain it, but it makes sense in my head, so that's all that really counts...
