Problem with file import and playback

The obvious question is...did the bounces import anyway?

I know your are not a flamer or a troll :) Still and that said. I feel like there was some extreme opinions that were MOST definitely not fodder or hash or most assuredly re-hash. Some genuine agreements and disagreements which rose above the day to day wives tales that are internet forum...

I'm sure you didn't mean it that way but mercy.............that's incredibly demeaning.

Absolutely understandable and in this day and age it's rare that someone actually wants to stick with something they've grown fond of. This is also a generation of "I need to purchase something that will make me better" and it's cool you've stuck with the 001 for this long. I hope you grow...

No offense taken Mr. Roush :) There are just times when for the benefit of those whom might be peeking in here and who do not yet have a feel for what is fact and forum fiction I feel uber compelled to diffuse some common misconceptions. I know from first hand experience Digidesign does NOT...

The point being that for 5 years you knew the product you were using was not supported. Dropping spare change from your pocket every day in the piggy bank over a 5 year period would have solved the problem and then some. That said reaching a point five years down the road and screaming to the...

Digi did support the 001 and they supported it better than ANYONE in the industry supported their own product. I know as I was there. Lexicon, Seasolo, Event, Emu, Motu, Ardvark, Steinberg, RME and a host of others ALL have hardware that's no longer supported. Nothing here exclusive to...

I know your frustrated but this doesn't seem all that unreasonable :) As mentioned before, yes it is costly for Digi to assign company resources to continue to support older machines. Especially machines that are 10 years old. It would literally require Digi to hire more folk. You don't think...

    Huge Pro Tools 8 issue

I would drag ALL third party plug-ins from the Pro Tools "used" folder temporarily to the plug-ins "unused" folder. Start session. If it boots you have either a corrupt plug-in or one that's not compatible with PT 8 cs3 Yes I know the sessions appeared to work fine for the last week.

acoustic guitar micing aka beating a dead horse

That's a bold and definitive statement. It covers a lot of ground. Is this based on personal experience??

    Digidesign C24

Well now. The way I look at it us seniors have earned the right to have a lapse every now and then. Right?

    Digidesign C24

This is a bit of a confusing statement. The C/24 is not an audio interface and can not convert audio to digital. It most certainly does however pass audio in a number of ways. To that end it's more than a control surface.

    Aligning multiple hits

A couple of thoughts here. As to delay compensation. It's a gigantic forum buzz phrase and where there are situations that benefit from delay comp there are equally as many that don't. Of course large sessions, particularly large sessions with mic'd drum kits and poorly conceived plug-in...

    Aligning multiple hits

You're indeed right! Beat Detective is an amazingly powerful tool. So much so they (Digidesign) for years withheld it as a bonus for moving up to Mix/HD systems. I remember people bitching to the ends of the universe that Digi was evil for making Beat Detective a TDM only plug-in. Then they...

    Aligning multiple hits

Perhaps I'm just getting behind the curve here :) Can those of you suggesting elastic audio over Beat Detective explain (given the original OP question) how that would or could possibly be more effective?? Inquiring minds and all

    Aligning multiple hits

Naw no need to elaborate! Your situation is VERY common and I know exactly what you're trying to do. Yes you can align any audio to a Beat Detective map although obviously a pad track won't have enough transients to make sense. I'm not in front of Pro Tools so I can't walk you through this step...

    Aligning multiple hits

Not sure what a stype instruction is but I'm sure there must be something either on Digi's site or on YouTube. It a fairly simple process and should only take seconds to re-align.

    Aligning multiple hits

Beat Detective's sole purpose is to do what you asked. I can't imagine a more appropriate tool for that job.
