    "Promise You I'm Gone"

Nice-Cool to hear you accompanying-tasty stuff. Mix sounds very good, the vocals are out front but the performance justifies it, very soild singing. I like the stacked harmonies really adds alot. I really can't find anything to criticize, the vocals are a little forward at times for my taste but...

    Advent->Christmas

Very nice, the playing is tight and sounds well recorded. Guitar lick around 1:00 i bet you wish you could do again, interrupts the flow for a second. The viola? and the guitar both sound well recorded, if i had a complaint it sounds slightly over limited/in your face for an acoustic piece. Love...

High in the Sky - Blues original - 1st draft

Sounds great to me. Great vocal track and i like the place in the mix. Guitars sound very good and good playing. The drums sound a bit loose-they are doing the job but could probably use a few fills or tightening up in a couple of spots. You're using addictive 2? What snare is that? the green...

    bipolargressive

Hello and happy holidays fellow recorders. I've been trying to mix this over the last few days and i'm going backwards. Here is a basically raw mix, very little eq, the drums are on a bus and through trash2 for a little volume and grit. The problem i'm having is to get a healthy volume without...

    Crazy on Saturday night

Listening to mix 3. Sounds like the Georgia Satellites must have liked this song too : /. I like the beefy guitar tone-takes up alot of space but again not cheesy sounding. Vocals sound great, performance and sound and placement in the mix all sound right on. Rhythm section is carrying it's...

    Bored in San Antone

I like the song, the vocal is a little shaky at times, but i see your just laying it down as reference. With a little more ironing out i don't see why your voice couldn't carry the song. I think the mix sounds great, vocal is sitting in a good spot all the way through. I like that harmony guitar...

    Moving Waves

Certainly starts with a bang, the guitar playing is excellent very precise but still with a rock and roll edge. The mix sounds good to me, though i think it could be cleaned up, sounds like the rhythm guitars could lose some of their low mid range to make the solo guitar stand out more. I notice...

Early Mix of a New song

Sounds like the beginnings of a good song, for sure i think you should be singing over this you already have melody ideas working. I like the guitar sound and chord progression, the use of feedback is interesting. You said no bass and i think the song works without it, but i think it would be...

    Cycle Song, Psych-folk

I like the verby vocals, that tambourine sounds kind of harsh to me, it's louder than the vocal, and considering the vocals are panned and so is the tamb and it's so dry (did you try verb on the tamb? just curious)...I like the way the song builds- cool chorus once the drums kick in, very...

    old school rock and roll

Sounds great! I listened to both mixes and i like the second less bassy one (first post). Guitar sounds better in the second one, i like the tone, not too distorted but thick and good sustain. I'll have to search but what is the guitar, semi hollow? At first i was thinking Paul Reed Smith, but...

"Entropic Sausage" - 25 seconds of garage punk

I like it, considering the circumstances i think the recording works with the material/performance, the distortion helps beef up the 2 piece. The playing/singing seems tight and you documented the moment which is what it's all about.

    Working with African Artist.

Sounds great to me, nice thumping kick drum, vocals are sitting well, cool backup vocals, arrangement is interesting, things keep changing up, lots of ideas. What part did you play in this? Sounds like a cool project, nice work!

    Lack of Light

Thanks for listening and the suggestions. I did a remix and used your ideas... -I was already adding a bump to the vocals at around 3k but tried 5k and liked it, also backed the vocals down and adjusted compression. -Added a few more cymbal hits (to spice up the bridge part) and a tambourine on...

    Rain

Sounds cool to me-I remember the instrumental version and i think you fit the vocals in well. You have to struggle a bit to make out the words but that's ok-it draws you into the mix. No complaints about the mix, love the big drum sound!

I'm not seeing a link to a song here, might want to edit/ preview your post.

The backside of MY "Abbey Road" equivalent ...

Nice composition. Vocals are sitting well and good performance. When the drums started i instantly thought "out of phase" something about the high hats, the snare sounds good-i don't hear much kick. Performances are great all around. Overall sounds excellent with nice seperation and quiet...

    Hard Rock Song Need Advice

Big and tight sounding guitars. Mix sounds good to me, maybe the drums could use some polish, some reverb or eq as they are kinda dry and dull sounding to me, but they are serving their purpose. I like the heaviness of the guitar playing without any over the top shredding. Nice work!

Trying to get more high end mojo on this...

Sounds great to me. Good sounds all around, everything is distinct, sounds like you have the sonic spectrum covered pretty well. The drums seem to be carrying the high end, the mix sounds pretty excellent to me. Cool rocking tune as well, good performances.

    Lack of Light

I've been recording this song all week and just started making mixes today, already i'm starting to ^#$%^ up what was sounding good during recording. So maybe some outside ears would be helpful. I am reluctantly singing again which is one obvious problem but besides the pitchiness do the vocals...

    ?

I hardly noticed any reverb which is probably a good thing. One thing i would like to add is i like that keyboard breakdown but i think the last chord/interval should sustain longer it seems to fade out in an unnatural way.
