I know this is a couple of months old, but I am curious, are you still having problems? If so, why not render to a new track and then kill the effects on the original track?
see, that leads to a great point. If you get some good cheap monitors, then when you get higher quality monitors, you have a second set to get a different point of view. Ideally, you should have several different quality speakers to listen to your mix on.
Enjoy
I would just like to say that I have been using the 1010lt for a few years now and it works great. I don't get any noise from my computer. I have used the 1010 version and it did the job nicely as well. But for the money difference, I prefer the LT.
go to www.pulsartech.net and get a couple of rca to 1/4 8 channel snakes. Then get a patch bay. Run the snakes to the patch bay and bam, there you have it. You can plug things into the patch bay as you please.
You assume way too much. I have worked in several PRO studios and used a ton of PRO gear....and by PRO I don't mean Behringer Pro series stuff. But this is HOME recording. Seeing that I have indeed worked on high end equipment, I feel that I am qualified to give a small amount of advice on what...
not a chance. Sorry. You could use something like this. http://www.zzounds.com/a--2676837/item--ARTPHANII
or just get a cheap mixer. I would go for a mixer because in the long run, it will be more versatile.
I have no problem with your opinion on what this cat needs to do. I have a problem with you presenting it in the fashion of calling our ideas, "crap". Price is not always the mitigating factor on whether something sounds good. Since you have most likely not used the brand that I recommended...
Good heads, good tuning, hard beaters, good drummer. It is not going to sound metal until you run it through a PA. Then, EQ, maybe a bit of reverb..... Enjoy
I use Mapex and have for years. They sound good. I don't care for them ergonomically though as they have a single tom mount instead of two like Pearl. I like that better. Honestly, as long as your shells are not trash, all you really need is a good set of heads and to tune them properly. If I...
here is a good recipe for a great kick sound
1 good drummer
2 good drum heads
1 properly tuned kick drum
1 kick drum mic, preferably an AKG D112 or Audix D6
1 (or two if double pedal) plastic beater heads
1 kickpad stuck to the head to save it from being torn to crap
1 parametric EQ
I have...
I am chilled. I am just sayin'....don't be hatin' on our ideas either. As far as posting MP3s, I never really do that on here. I mix to my taste and I don't really look for the opinions of others. I have to trust what I am doing. I am not going to get into a pissing contest of my mix is better...
