    Source for cabinet screws?

This was a joke thread, right? I mean I'm cautious and anal about some things but cab screws? Is it a 1962 pre-Rolla Basket weave 200 watter or something?

    The New Tone Thread

The tone quest for me was always about my sound at home in the studio - definitely not on stage. When I was gigging I used Vox Valvetronix original series. Some would say they sound like ass (I disagree but for sure they aren't Marshalls) but for club gigs they were perfect and not stupid...

I'm guessing this is the sort of discussion that will guide what this forum becomes. Good stuff in the post and the questioning of placement. Birth pangs, yeah?

I like that Armi. I always hear the tune first, tone second. I'm sure there's tons can be done but it's a great start.

What to finish a strat with?

Orange with a heavy dose of red. Rosewood will look good against that. My first impulse was green but not with rosewood.

I have three Lesters. Most I paid was $2300 for a goldtop reissue 54. I have about $2500 in my Custom but I had a lot of work done to it. I paid $1000 for my 1972/3 Deluxe. Never buy a Les Paul new.

Teles - not Greg's cuppa but... I picked up an American Standard a few years back for a good price and was very pleasantly surprised. I love a maple neck first - plays so smooth - but the thing is a rock machine. It don't have to be Brad Paisley twangy. My Tele is a close second to my LPs when...

Les Paul 'Black Beauty' Guitar Going on Auction Block

The real "Holy Grail" of Les Pauls is and forever will be "Beano". If that ever turns up - after the current owner's death maybe - and it can be documented, all the records will fall.

Do you think it would be possible to design and build a quiet amp on the the same concept as the big boys - overdrive everything - but do it with "smaller" components? Like 1 watt of power from blowing the snot out of 1/2 watt tubes and 4 1/4 watt speakers. Same roar just little - not tamed...

Miner - panels are awesome and make a hell of a difference, especially for playback and mixing. I did my "studio" a couple years ago now. Couldn't believe the difference.

Hey guys - just wanted to say hi. I love how this thread is still going strong. It's been a winter for the ages up here and I'm too busy to do squat but I still read these posts almost every day. Great tones and great spirit right here. Kinda what this site was built for yeah? Keep rockin'...

Sorry to read this news Coal Miner. First thing I thought of was your expertise in a dying industry. The new guy kinda came close... (Pleased to meet ya as it were JDOD) Where do they still mine coal? China. An American with experience...what do you suppose that's worth? Enough to fly you back...
