I am going to check all of those things... thanks...
What about buffers?
What should those be set on ior should my machine be able to handle pretty much any config I through at it.
I know it must be fairly simple.
I'm going to figure it out...
Ok. I must be doing something wrong. Maybe I have my buffers all crazy or something. I'm not an expert at this and it looks like I may have gone astray somewhere as I am getting more into the mixing thing.
This is what I have:
Computer:
Windows XP Professional
2.4Ghz P4 with 800Mhz Front Side...
Oh yeah...
Speaking as a pretty good business man:
The point of business is to lawfully make money. Period.
A person like myself and most of the fine people on this board add the word "ethically" to the above statement but that depends on the person.
I think it is a clever and unique idea...
Forgive me but I am still a newbie...
Don't you really get the advantage of a high end pre-amp by attaching it to a mic and tracking with it? I understand that running it through a preamp afterwards my still help out especially if you have nice converters.
I'm just wondering how much this...
OK...
So the new digital cable does not work.....
Any ideas? Here's the situation...
I connect the digital out to my spdif in on my hammerfall card (via breakout cable). If I use only the right channel it works great. IF I use the it in stereo the left channel is just noise and the right...
For overdubs I use an external pre but I don't know how much better it is at this point. It definitely sounds pretty clean. I use a DMP3 but I'm trying to get an RNP when I come up with more money and hopefully don't get laid off soon.
For the DAC (not sure exactly what that stands for but...
I'm pretty excited about my purchase of this board.
Its a significant upggrade from my Behringer MX3282A.
However, the talk back mic is pretty bad. It seems to cut in and out. Anyone else have this problem? How'd you go about fixing it? I use the talk back all the time so I really want to...
Hmmm.. I'm no expert but a similar thing happened to me... switch mic cables. Then try a different mic. That way you can isolate the problem.
I'm not familiar with the rnp but does it have any switches like Hi Gain Switch like the DMP3 does?
One time that happened with me and it was that...
You know what?
Now that I think about it... I didn't actually use the cable to record or play anything yet. I just plugged it in and looked at the meters on the software to see if it was behaving properly. It looked good so I didn't even plug in the headphones or speakers or anything since I...
Thanks Dime, but I checked it out with a few cables and one channel just wasn't working and all you could hear are clicks. So I went to Guitar Center and asked a guy and he was clueless and had no idea what I was talking about. Didn't know what SPdif was. Probably didn't know what a GT-6 was...
Hi.
I just bought a 32X8 Mackie. I want to patch in an external preamp and currently I have it in the insert jack (Y cable) of the channel I want to use. Is that the correct way to do it? This way I can use the external preamp and all of the mixer's functionality such as EQ and faders to set...
question about digital out cables
I am having a problem with my GT-6's Direct out. Actually its probably my fault because I don't know what cable you are suppossed to use.
To connect the Direct out to an RME 96/52 Sp/Dif do I have to buy a special cable? Right now only the right channel comes...
ahhh... never mind.. just opened up to page 101 in my home recording for dummies book and see that I need to get a normalled patch bay... however my question about the trs and ts still stands.
Similar question... What about patchbays. As long as the patch bay is TRS then everything should be cool right? But that means all of the patch cables have to be trs too. Isn't that going to be really expensive.
For example, I just drew out all of the equipment that I would want to put into...
If I have a 4 channel TRS (female) snake, can I take an TS instrument cable (take a cable right from the output jack of the guitar) and plug it into the snake and then into an amp on the other side?
So it would go:
Guitar-> TS cable -> TRS Snake -> TS cable -> Guitar amp in the other room
Will...
I have a mesa Boogie Mark IV combo that I am selling.
With nice heavy duty road case with heavy duty casters. I'll have pics up soon. This is an awesome amp and the tubes are pretty much new. I bought this off of a guy who used it as a backup amp for his gig as a guitarist for some big play...
