who the hell is rating me?

I just want to know how to put pictures next to my name when I post. I'd give anyone who could tell me that 5 stars :)

    Here's one for you all

man..... I think that a limited budget and a small mic cabinet is the least of your problems. You should start with some serious analysis. :) I listened twice and can honestly say...."I don't get it"

Lend Me Your Golden Ears, OK?

I've got the ADK. I like that mic personally. Has its own tonal quality.

Lend Me Your Golden Ears, OK?

I agree with Erich. They are all very similar. I'm guessing #2 was the ADK. And as mentioned..... you could sound good singing through coffee cans. I'd choose #2 or #4

obviously the fact that its a mp3 makes it sound like its dircet i asure you i miced each acoustic seperately Sorry. I don't doubt you and didn't mean anything bad. I liked the acoustics. I would be interested to know the signal chain and type of guitars.

How terribly bad do I sing?

I think a 19 dollar guitar tuner would help large parts of it. I'm not sure what helps the BGV's. But the rhythm locked into a pretty good groove toward the end.

    christian contemp mix

Nice sound. IF .... you want it to sound more live. A few things you can do. First thing is don't record anything direct. Sounds like the accoustics may be direct into and out of a pod or something. Mic them with a LD Condenser. Electric through an amp. Mic the amp. Try to stay...

Great sound. Super harp and guitar. I wouldn't change anything. Kinda made me think of Dire Straits. I really liked it!

    2nd mix using suggestions

Thanks everyone who critiqued the first mix. Tried to implement most of the ideas to some degree. Also did some finalizing on the stereo track. It's pretty cheesy (cookie cutter I think was one accurate description) Thanks again. You guys are the best. Song is "We'll Sing Your Song In...

2nd remix using most of the suggestions

New Original that needs to be critiqued

Thanks everybody for the comments and ideas. The guitar is a martin d-41 that I had cut low end on. I just remixed some of the low end back in it. It did help. Re-mastering the drums helped too. I agree that it needs some BGV's. But not mine :) Unless you want to hear Bob Dylan...

    what are *you* monitoring with?

Yamaha MSP-10's. But when I listen to someone's song.... I almost always listen on my home stereo that I play store bought CD's on. (Unless I'm at work)

    Can't play guitar..

I'm primarily a guitarist.... and my songs have a very wide variety of guitar tones. I think when you start talking about guitar tone you have to talk about preamps and processors. The type of guitar impacts the tone hugely.... but even some lousy guitars can sound really good through the...

New Original that needs to be critiqued

Thanks for the comments guys. The good news about the drums is that they were recorded "flat" on 5 different tracks..... so I can re-master them. I agree...the toms do need some work. Interesting comments about the vocalist :) I won't tell her..... LOL This was written for praise and...

New Original that needs to be critiqued

Most of you will be glad to know I'm not singing on this one. I wrote and played all of the music... then gave a cd to a lady singer I know who wrote the lyrics and sang it. It's an original contemporary Christian song. (at least it doesn't sound like Bob Dylan) Any suggestions, comments...

    One quick question

I know I'm in the wrong area for this question... but I know you guys will know. What's the best software for composing drum sequencing with my computer keyboard. Windows environment, and "best" defined as combination of sound and being user friendly. Thanks

What are your opinions on voice lessons???

I was gonna take vocal lessons one time. One lesson and the teacher paid me not to come back :)

    quieter snare drum?

Put it in a pillow case before you play :)

    too cheezy?

Really nice song. Not cheesy. Well played and sang in all aspects. I really liked it. And..... I really like your accent :) Super
