PanicJ-Nobody Cares
I wrote this on my acoustic guitar, then recorded in my bedroom studio.
This is pretty much a 'live' take, basically first takes. That's why some of my songs seem to come together a little bit more at the end - - I just wrote them and am performing them for the first time...
PanicJ - Grand Rapids - The Improv
Here is an improv jam done in my bedroom studio. I kinda sorta arranged it in my head, then did all of the instruments starting with the drums. The arrangement is kinda 'on the spot.'
It starts strange and gets stranger.
The drums - 1 take
Strings - about...
Top Ten
I like the voting idea... I wouldn't want to make it the dominant way to view songs tho because my tastes run well into the chaotic and strange.
Too Late For Love
I wrote this song in my head. I wrote it completely inspired by a guitarist on this forum who said he never plays 'D' chords cuz they sound gay or something. I recorded all of the instruments myself in my bedroom studio. I played the drum track first, solidifying the...
Fun
This Kicks Ass.
Everyone has a little Satan in 'em.
The drums sound programmed.... I've only heard one or two drummers who could really play like that...
My 'Stuff'
My first album was sponsored in 1995 and my first small tour I played when I was only 16, which was the same year I seriously picked up the guitar... (over ten years now yeesh), but working in TV for a few years, I was too busy to play out with a band :( On the bright side I got...
Jethro Tull meets....
Retro is good....
Wish you could get us something higher fidelity - I think the SoundClick player is a beeeatch to begin with...
My personal opinion: Let the vocals run without the double track... Really they are good enough to stand alone.
I think harmonies would be...
Tite
Nice groove...
'You aint gangsta boy - that's just not how you liiaaauuve"
The chorus is tight. Beat is trippin' me out. Who's your vocal producer?
New Orleans
Perhaps a tribute to all of the sadly missed smokey creole bars in New Orleans.
Would go well in that dark smoky club with an equally smokey women whilst nursing my dark microbrew.
Hey, when is Tom Waits gonna start singing?
Trippy Classical
Good work!
I too see 'soundtrack' written all over this. Hard to place the exact form of cinema though, 'cuz the intro reminds me of 1850 and the meat of the song reminds me of... reminds me of... Yes. (The band)
Early Morning For Sure
Nice Groove.
Did you piezo the guitar? Mic it? Both?
I'd like to hear the Egyptian Pharoahs play a little bit o' traditional Syrian style orchestration to this. They played with Zeppelin when I saw the good ol' Zep.
Not Peavey
I'd have to say Behringer. Sure, it sounds pretty @#$%#$ bad. But it's built well and I don't worry about it getting stepped on, chewed on, crapped on, or whatever.
As for Peavey, I had two Peavey bass amps with the 15" Black Widows and they both blew pretty easily. Started with...
Sug Knight
Damn -
I'd love to lock you in a room with Sug Knight. As for major label goes:
Sure, you hear bad stories about people getting screwed. Those are the people who can't handle their own business.
If you got the product ready, which it looks like you're getting ready to do, then a...
Good Luck Getting Signed!
Major Label: "Yeah we dig the tunes, but we think your beats are too sparse."
You: "Fuck you! Fuck off you fuckers! Fuck! Motherfuck!"
Major Label: "NEXT!"
Thanks -
Thanks for all of your excellent suggestions.
So for now I'm going to experiment with a bottom mic. Hopefully it won't get too much bass drum.
I just *CANT* mix in another snare mic track. I'm already using six tracks for the drums.
1) BD
2) SD
3) OH - Stereo
4) TOMZ -Stereo...
Cool Like Dat
Nice poetic angle -
It's always cool to hear rappers who don't blindly follow the "rollin down the strip with the nine and a 40" persona :)
A rap retrospective about what must have been churning through the heads of people like Malcolm X or MLK, and it's set to a beat that...
