zep stuff still has noticeable twang. sure he used light strings which helped that out, but you'd be crazy to think that it doesnt sound twangy. twangy is a word that will never be used as much as in this thread. :p

well sure telecasters work through high gain amps, but you still never reallly get rid of the twang, whether you like it or not, it has a distinct sound.

I'll put in a good word for the Epiphone Casino, but you also can't go wrong with the Dot or an Artcore.

You'll be amazed at the difference it makes in the sound of the guitar. It won't be that much harder to play, and it'll be worth it.

You do know that you need a wah pedal to sound anything like him right? I dont recall a single song in which he doesnt use the wah pedal. He also uses a lot of distortion for his sustaining solos, and I dont think he has a particularly clear sound, its mainly that he almost never plays chords...

if you didnt want a bright sounding guitar why would you get a tele? *bangs head on table* why why why why why why maybe try to resell it and use the money to buy a guitar more to your taste that you've played before purchasing. thats the great thing about buying used, it wont go down much more...

Although thats argued like anything about guitar, I think it is pretty widely agreed upon that there are many companies that have strat type guitars that are better than actual strats. The reason why I think a lot of people like strats is because its what theyve been used to for a long time so...

I think the black inlays just look cheap and plasticy. Maybe if they had black pearloid inlays it would look good.

guitars with floyd roses dont have the same warmth, if you dont like your rg send it to me, I'm currently out of rgs.

I think rosewood works better with the strat's quack, and maple goes better with the telecaster twang.
