HOW many guitars do you need-want ?

I have my Ibanez, which sounds like a strat with humbuckers, but plays like an rg (minus the floyd rose), and is great for harder stuff. and I have my SG which does the classic rock sound as good as anything else. However I do see the need for a 335 type of guitar, as well as something with...

    Which Wah?

thats what I was afraid of... damn.

    Which Wah?

I'm really rather disappointed with my crybaby (gcb-95) and I want to get a new wah. I'm bored of the classic crybaby sound, so I'm not looking for another crybaby, as much as I like Dunlop stuff. The sound I'm looking for is on the Weezer song "Beverly Hills" during the solo. Very horn like...

    Biggest Most Dangerous Guitar Sound

I saw Audioslave live on October 4th this year, and I was REALLY impressed with his tone. I'm not into using effects at all, and as much as I like his music I was never overly impressed with his sound in the studio, but when he started the solo to I Am The Highway the sound filled the arena, it...

How do I tune a 12 string acoustic guitar?

    do you mean lower pitched?

    Dimarzio Air Zone?

You actually helped me more than you think, the other pickup I was considering was the SD custom custom. How do they compare for standard tuning?

    Dimarzio Air Zone?

Has anyone tried a Dimarzio Air Zone? I'm looking for a thick dark sounding medium-high output alnico pickup for the bridge spot on my SG, and am considering this to replace the stock pickup.

    Mesa Boogie

They stopped making the rectoverb combo?! I was hoping to get one of those some day.

Anyone have a Nice 335 or Les copy?

damn that looks nice, I'll put that on my list of guitars to buy if I ever get some money.

    Mesa Boogie

Look in to a combo if you want to be able to push the power tubes without ridiculous volume. A recto-verb should do the trick, more gain than you should ever want to use, 50 watts, 6l6 or El34 tubes, 2 channels, various modes in those channels, reverb.

    Which pickups??

I'm by no means a pickup expert, but of the ones I've played with, it seems you need a SD Full Shred, they give a lot of clarity in high distortion.

What was your very first guitar?

Oscar Schmidt by Washburn (yes they make even cheaper copies of what they already make) Odm-2 acoustic. I still have it, never play it, never change the strings on it, but sits on the stand in my basement looking pretty. It has a nice transparent red finish to it.

    Seymour Duncan Pickups

Well I went on the Seymour Duncan forum, I was too lazy to join so I just read old threads as there were plenty of people with similar questions as me. Thanks for that idea cere8. I'm thinking I'll go with a custom custom in the bridge, and an alnico 2 pro in the neck.

    Seymour Duncan Pickups

I'm contemplating purchasing a set of Seymour Duncan Alnico II Pro pickups for my Gibson SG standard. Right now I'm finding the guitar is too bright and not in the kind of way that the tone knob could fix. So my question is, has anyone tried these pickups and what did you think of them? I'm...

    Gibson Faded SG?

Well for certain guitars they are more expensive here after you convert the currencies, but these tend to be American made guitars, which makes sense why they're cheaper there. Asian made guitars are from my experience the same price in Canada and the US after converting the currency.

    "Greasing" the strings???

It is probably technique and old strings, don't slide your hand on the strings so much when changing chords, and try to change your strings every month if you can afford to. String changes once a month are not for hardcore tone snobs at all, in fact if I had to guess how often most people...

    Gibson Faded SG?

Ok I just converted the prices, 1100 dollars Canadian works out to 930 dollars US. 900 CAD is 760 US.

    Gibson Faded SG?

Canada, but I should mention, the black sg standard is about 100-150 dollars less than the red or sunburst ones.
