Is that a Gibson? I can't find one with the single tailpiece/bridge like that on their site. The 60's Junior has that tailpiece but it's a single pup. My R4 LP has that tailpiece as well. I like the look. Intonation can be sketchy but small price to pay.

    Guitar Technique Question

If it was supposed to be muted those zeroes would be exes. (exs - X's - whatever...)

    Guitar Technique Question

Yeah okay I re-read the first post and even watched the video. I've played that sort of thing both ways. If I am covering a tune I start with what the TAB shows and if it don't sound right I'll try it a different way. The chord pro/TAB you showed calls for that open string strum so play it that...

    Guitar Technique Question

If I were playing that TAB I would play the open chord. They don't show it for no good reason. If they didn't show it I wouldn't play it. They do so I would. Why is this a question? It's right there.

    LP terminology...

I'm not sure I'd buy any Gibson brand new. Too much $$$$. You can get a lot more guitar on Craigslist, eBay, the usual places. If cash is an issue, or a personal loan is not realistic try patience. Took me a few years to pile up enough cash for my first LP.

Thanks. Pretty much confirms my thoughts. I've met Mark and talked to him several times. The R4 LP I have was sold by him to the guy I bought it from and he was kind enough to discuss the guitar over the phone before I bought it. Not many would do that. His stuff is a bit pricey on the surface...

Hey Greg - what do you think of these listings and prices? Look especially at the last one, 66/67 JTM50. Mark's Guitar Loft ~ amps This guy is local. Been selling high end and vintage stuff for years. I have my own thoughts but I'd like yours before I share. Check his guitar offerings as well...

You wekkom to both of you but no worries (and you did RAMI) This thread does indeed move like a freight train sometimes. I've checked in 15 pages down. "Oh fuck. Got some catching up to do." It's all good.

Don't give me too much credit. I was just trying to copy Ronno's tone. It took everyone to make it run like it has. Still the best thread even on version two. I have kept up - read it all - just don't comment much as I have been on an extended sabbatical from playing. Hopefully that will change...

Sounds like Kashmir. :laughings: Who said that? Must be that oddball scale - can't remember the name of it. Lifeson used it on a bunch of stuff. It sounds good and well-produced like all yer stuff.
