    First Song EVER Recorded!

wow...well, this isnt my FIRST, but it is the first i had a mediocre set up on. its also one of the first songs i ever recorded of a full band. The music sucks, and the recording isnt very good either. Alot of clipping and such. I probably did this about a years ago. My equipment was something...

    Minimal Requirements

the computer im on right now is an old compaq presario 933mhz 512mb of ram with cable internet (i sure love my viruses) and a local area network...in other words, its cpu is always used up. At the moment, whenever i do get to recording, i run all my mics into a behringer ub1202, then into a zoom...

    Just got drumagog (mp3)

I like this song alot actually. The unperfected sound adds alot to it, although it could be cleaned up a little, there are some timing issues and such. Do you have a version with the regualar drum track by any chance? Id like to be able to hear the difference.

do you have any recomendations on what kind of processor or what i should use? Are dell PC's any good for this? Cause you can get - http://configure.us.dell.com/dellstore/config.aspx?c=us&cs=19&l=en&oc=D24L1&s=dhs - for $300 from them. Any recomendations at all? Id like to keep the cost of the...

    Minimal Requirements

I want to build a computer setup to record my band, and some other local bands. I was looking into a Yamaha Mg16/4, running into a delta 44, then into cubase. I was looking into recording 4 tracks at a time, and was wondering what the basic system requirements would be for this setup? I dont...

    Thinkin of an alternative.

So...if i sent the bass drum to a buss, snare drum to a buss, the overheads to a stereo bus, and the toms to a stereo bus, would i be able to mix all of the channels? Would there be a problem with stereo busses? Would i have to use two of the inputs (one for for left, one for right)?

    Thinkin of an alternative.

oh yea, i meant to say, i wanted to be able to record track by track, and then mix each mic seperately (how the latest public mix contest was done.) Unless of course there is an easier way to do this. Aren't there some fancy mixers that plug right into usb? Can you get each channel to be its own...

    Thinkin of an alternative.

So yer saying that i got it figured out then? That i can record they way i want to with a good computer, Cubase, the delta 1010lt and a yamaha mg16/4? I obviously know the that I need a decent array of good mics, and all the other crap, the only reason i seem so confused is that ive never tried...

Behringer Eurorack/Oktava Mic issues and questions

If you read the manual it explains that you should give it time to turn it off and on. My ub1202 takes about a minute for the light to go completely off, your just supposed to wait then and not unplug it (i think that can actually damage it or something.) I dont know about the wind noise, could...

    Thinkin of an alternative.

If I buy a yamaha mg16/4 mixer and something like a delta 1010lt, would i be able to record in some program (recomendations?) so each channel of the mixer is its own track. I have experience with acid pro, but i realize you can't record multiple tracks at a time (please correct me if im wrong.)...

    AKG 44 Headphones

are these any good at all? They're the same price as the nady ones, so im a bit scepticale of the quality.

    string squeek

As scrubs suggested, the easiest way would probably just be to use elixers. They're a little more expensive, but they cut down on the string sqeek and last much longer. Plus, you dont have to make it look like your masterbating everytime you play guitar. (thats a reference to the grease, not the...

    Putting out a split

thanks for all the advise everyone...we decided were gunna only do 100 cd's for now. I have 3 burners at my house, and like, 5 other people with cd burners, so that wont be a problem. All the cd label packages say "100% safe bla bla bla" and i have never had a problem with a cd with a sticky...

    Putting out a split

Pretty soon my band, and my girlfriends band are going to be recording a split cd, and we figured it would be cheaper to duplicate ourselves rather than having a company do it for us. We only want to make 200 copies of it, so i was wondering what everyone would recommend to me. How i would do...
