Good web based site for collab. file-sharing?

I'm starting a collaborative project with some long-distance guys. Yahoo mail caps my attachments at 25MB. Which would be fine if we were just working with mp3. But I was hoping for wav. I used some web-based free file-sharing service a few years ago. I think they went defunct. It was...

does sample rate matter to a coaxial/optical converter?

My bad. All the advertising for M-Audio CO2 has no mention of the sample rate, so I skipped right to the manual-- which also doesn't mention the sample rate. But upon further investigation, the official M-Audio product page DOES mention a 24 bit/96k maximum. Thanks Jim. That's why I love this...

does sample rate matter to a coaxial/optical converter?

No, no... I didn't mean that I was trying to convert ADAT to coaxial. I'm trying to convert S/PDIF optical to S/PDIF coaxial. My recorder has both S/PDIF and ADAT outs, and right now I just happen to be stuck with the S/PDIF. I know I need a converter for this. It's right in the Fostex manual...

does sample rate matter to a coaxial/optical converter?

So I have a Fostex D2424LV with an optical out, and an Audiophile 2496 with a coaxial in. I need a converter (until I can get an ADAT capable soundcard anyway...). Less expensive converters don't mention sample rates at all. M-Audio has a $50 bi-directional solution in this category that would...

    insurance?

thanks!! Cat insurance, huh? There's probably more money to be made there than there is in recording... I have a friend who wants to start a church that baptizes pets for a fee. "Your little Muffy should enjoy the comforts of eternal heaven with you, instead of burning in hellfire with the...

    insurance?

Thanks for the info guys. Getting my home-owner's insurance to cover my equipment would be perfect, except that my set-up will be for live recording... and I don't own a home. So that's right out. I'd be travelling with a modest $4300 (rough) worth, at list value. Plus another $2000 worth at...

    insurance?

This may be the most un-fun question ever posted on this BBS, but... Anyone have any advice about buying insurance for studio equipment? Is there a good place for me to start some research? Any opinions on whether its even worth it? Thanks.

help with a fostex D2424LV purchase?

I've mostly decided on the D2424LV to record live gigs. But there's the issue of dumping the tracks onto my computer... I don't think that the optional DVD-RAM drive is for me. It seems hassle-free, but since I don't need to archive my projects, its not a very cost-effective solution. The...
