    Garageband 10

Cheers guys, how is the new drummer feature in Logic Pro X? Is it exactly the same as it is in Garageband or is it completely different. For me this has been the best addition to GB and made laying down ideas so much easier and faster.

    Garageband 10

Hi guys, I've been using Garageband for sometime now for writing laying down ideas on guitar and sE X1 mic and have pretty much got the hang of most things in there, so i was thinking of upgrading to logic express. However i've just installed Mavericks on my system and so enabled me to upgrade...

    Question re Garageband

From a musicians perspective i think Garageband is excellent. It's capable of producing just as good quality recordings as any other DAW and i personally find it quicker and easier to use for the majority of tasks. It's only let down by it's slightly limited functionality but that doesn't bother...

What mic for weak thin voice and recording acoustic?

I'm not a singer but can hold a key when needed for backing vocals etc. The main fault being that my voice is quite thin and weak despite trying to improve it with exercises. My budget Eagle g158 doesn't help the situation so I'm wondering what would be the best upgrade for me. I'd also use it...

Focusrite 2i2 & iMac Latency problem

Anyone? What's even more strange is i only notice the latency when using a mic (line) for vocal or acoustic. It doesn't appear noticeable with electical guitar or bass (inst) with modelling amps.

Focusrite 2i2 & iMac Latency problem

Hi guys, purchased a 2i2 over the weekend but not impressed with the latency on my 2ghz core 2 duo iMac running 3gb ram. Bought it to replace my ageing Line 6 Guitarport with the view to recording acoustic guitar after reading about the excellent mic per amps. I monitor using the "direct...

Just got the Auralex Mopads for mine as i wanted to angle them, they definitely tighten things up and bring out even more detail. Rokit 5's should come with a pair of these as standard.

Well marketing do have to satisfy their advertisers you know. Unfortunately that's how the world works. I said I've returned the Rokits

Guys thanks for all of the replies, i eventually got the BX5A's delivered the other day and can safely say they are like a breath of fresh air. Much more detailed than the Rokits and i can actually hear what's happening in the mids now. The bass isnt as deep but it is much more natural sounding...

For those that are still interested in the rokit 5 saga, just thought i'd keep you guys up to date. After bypassing my Guitarport, i connected the monitors straight to my iMac and played a few CD's, which sounded just as i expected, exactly the same. So i had play around with the positioning...

I consider myself quite lucky, just spoke to the retailer and they are happy to take them back. I'm going to have a mess around and connect them directly to the computer first and see what results that brings. I might even move things to another room to hear the difference. Cheers Guys! :)

Just had a read through some of the reviews on Tweak (zzounds.com) and found this one. Sounds much like what i was thinking. (Thanks for posting the link CFox!) Quality: Very solid and looks great. Strong mid-range drivers doesn't seem very vulnerable to damage. Value: There aren't many $300...

I can give that a go as soon as i get home from work, i have a 1/8" (computer output) to 1/4" Mono Jack cable lying around somewhere. The problem where i live in the UK is there aren't any Music shops that carry the stock, so auditioning is difficult, hence why i often end up making my...

No there's no need for Pod Farm to run, Guitarport just acts as any other USB audio interface. All internal routes in system preferences (on a Mac) are set to use Guitarport as the input/output sources. Haven't even booted up my DAW yet as i want to adjust to the speakers before i record...

Guys thanks for all the replies. Regarding connectivity I'm using RCA (phono on back of guitarport) to TRS 1/4" balanced on the back of the monitors. Currently the speakers are placed directly on the table, admittingly this is not ideal (they do have a rubber pad on the bottom which helps a...
