In the Windows Audio control panel, choose the tab "audio". Click the down menu arrow under "Sound Playback". All of your sound cards playback devices will be located there. Choose the spdif one.

Same here. I track drums through the ADA8000 with the pres set at about half way up. Works great.

I ordered a western digital drive from Fostex when my drive went bad a few years back. It's easy to change out. Just remove the plate underneath the VF (4 screws), unplug the drive and pop the new one in. The format will take hours depending on how big of a drive you buy. This website will help...
