    Layla Users Out There

Hey, I want a cardbus slot on MY desktop.:) I bet it's easily worth a try. So, you had one box, but two cards, and it read both? Cool.

New to digital recording, need help

If you're going to share it in the Kazaa shared folder, how do you think you will make any money? Seriously. And, Kazaa is a virus haven. You should probably take a weekend (or longer) and start reading through many of the posts to learn what you're doing, and why what you're trying to do...

You old farts will remember these!

I kind of think they look neat...very Dali-esque. Surrealist drums.

    Layla Users Out There

Me too! You can chain two together? Someone was asking about that on this forum once, as they wanted more than 8 ins. I'm using Sonar, and it appears to be in fine form for me. -Kirstin

    That vocal booth

My dad is bringing over the materials for this tonight, actually. He decided to use pvc sealant (or whatever adhesive they use) to construct the floor and ceiling of the booth, then we just have to put the long legs in for the walls, basically. This makes it kind of prefab, yet collapsable. I...

    laptop soundcards?

Lazy may have well been my birth name, so I can understand that. It's a good thing I have a day job. Good call on researching your software fully. It doesn't seem too full functioned when I see you are limited to your number of tracks, but otherwise, it looks to have some features that will...

    laptop soundcards?

Thank god you're not Simon Cowell--I'd be crying today. Thanks, also...I will look forward to hearing you soon as well. And, I dig dance music too. I could never come up with a dance instrumental at all, but I'm glad someone can. I am pretty open to music genres. OH YEAH! Congrats on the...

    Reverbs: Insert or send?

The simplest method yet. Good work man. I know those busses are no laughing matter. I'm sorry. Don't put it on my record...I can take no more demerits before I'm booted from this joint. ;) see ya, Kirstin

    laptop soundcards?

Ha ha...a small wet paper one, that I can't find my way out of half the time. :p My dad always used to say that certain people were so dumb they couldn't find their way out of a wet paper bag. That's pretty much what I consider myself to be musically. I can't play anything really, I'm...

    Reverbs: Insert or send?

And that was the FIRST time I've ever used a second buss. Now, that's pretty funny too.

    Insert/sends in different thread.

Don't people use the acoustic mirror and Sir and stuff on mono tracks sometimes? I know when I bounced it down, off a mono track, on the other buss, as I discussed a couple of posts back, that I am able to mix it down as a stereo. If I have a vocal track say, and it's mono, when I run it...

    Insert/sends in different thread.

Tex just said, in the other thread, that a good way is to assign the track to a separate buss (I assigned the aux track to a separate buss) and then apply the reverb effect to the buss as an insert and then record the buss itself that has the insert on it. Crazy stuff... -Kirstin

    Reverbs: Insert or send?

TEX! That is funny...you should go check out what I've been experimenting with publicly...on this thread... We were having a hard time figuring out how to record an auxiliary buss by itself. I didn't even think of this, until just a second ago, which is kind of what I did, except that I...

    Insert/sends in different thread.

And, Sean, your way is easier. I think I was getting to that point somewhere in the thread, but I'm not sure I know what I'm getting myself into. Seems to me that finding a way to bounce the aux buss is really the same as what you just said!!!! Much faster, though, you can leave that effect...

    Insert/sends in different thread.

Okay, this time, I put the aux into a different master bus...B. When I set up the effect on the aux buss, I set the return to 6, or all the way up. I set the effect itself to 100% wet, and then the volume and trim on the original track all the way DOWN. This way all you're hearing is the aux...

    Insert/sends in different thread.

so far, it isn't working--I'm applying the aux return, but the track it mixes down is all dry. It doesn't seem to "apply" the effect, but rather, to mix down the "amount" of signal (dry) routed through the aux buss. Interesting. I'm still not sure there isn't some way to do this, that we may...
